Does anyone else get these stains that don’t seem to wash out

I think it might be olive oil or something from eating salads.

Is there any way of getting them out or do I need to throw ☹️

It looks worse in real life. Definitely shows badly when wearing.

Use Fairy washing up liquid on it. Wet the affected area and put neat FL on it and press it into the fabric with a cloth. I use an old toothbrush on T-shirts but that looks like it needs a more delicate approach. Then put it in the wash as normal with your usual detergent but put a good squirt of FL in the dispenser drawer too. It might take a couple of washes like that but I find it usually sorts it.

DH is forever getting stains down the front of his clothes. I use carbolic soap and it’s fantastic for all types of stains. Have used it on oil/grease stains. Wet the cloth rub the soap in and leave it a short time before washing. Hasn’t failed yet.

I think Marseille soap is very good too.

Another Fairy washing up liquid advocate here. Or neat laundry liquid detergent.

Ive never found anything that gets oil out, be good to know if thats possible

Look on eBay for polysorbate 80. It's used in all sorts of thing like food and cosmetics and its purpose is as a surfactant, solubilised and emulsifier, which means it disperses and allows it to mix with water to be washed away. I use drops of it on oil and grease stains; even old ones, and leave it for a few hours before washing normally.

Washing up liquid and pour over hot water /
boiled water, depending on fabric , then pop in washing machine

You can get grease stains on clothes if you only ever run your washing machine in low temperatures with non-bio soap. Every once in a while, run a high temp setting may help.

I used to have that. I don’t know where to get it now.

I swear by Astonish/Vanish soap bar stain remover.
wet the stain with cold water, give a good rub/scrub with the soap bar. Leave to sit a while then wash.

Neat washing up liquid poured directly onto the oil stain. Then gently scrub the stained area with an old soft toothbrush that has been sitting in a cup of hot water (makes the bristles even softer) and then continue using a bit more water on the toothbrush until the stained area is quite soaked.

I try to leave it for a while at that stage - at least 15 mins - and then throw it in a normal wash.

I find that process works first time every time if it's a fresh grease stain but ones that weren't spotted right away and have already been through the washer and dryer can take a few attempts to shift.

Rub some swarfega into it. It gets out oil. It's a hand wash machanics use to get oil off their hands.
