Awake and anxious, anyone else awake?

Hi,

DS2 got D&V (we’ll really just the V) from nursery on Thursday. DH has now started with it and has been going for several hours now.

I have a phobia of puke so I’m absolutely terrified - not just that I’m next but also at the whole situation. I’m also scared DS1 will wake up with it and DH is obviously out of commission as I wouldn’t make him do it!

I can’t sleep and my mind is whirling, I’ve tried music and TV and nothing is helping. Is anyone else up? Why are you awake (not that it’s so late I guess)?

@Justanotherdaytoday glad to hear he’s doing a lot better, hope you both get some sleep! I haven’t tried counselling or CBT but after this round of D&V I think I might have to, first one with 2 kids and it’s been really rough. Have you had it and did it work for you?

Re mortgage we’re not in the uk atm but are maybe planning to move back, mainly because I miss my DM and could really do with her in times like this 😅so maybe I’ll need it one day! Good luck with the viewing and the cleaning…

Went in to get my charger and DH proudly announced he could now keep food down, I said that was impressive as he didn’t have any! He meant water. Think he’ll be out of order for the next 24 hours but at least he’s feeling better!

How are you doing now OP? I also have a huge fear of puke. Father in law started throwing up when he was staying with us over Christmas and I was a huge emotional wreck trying to handle my fear.

Still no sleep sadly. DS1 is up now so have allowed tv even though he technically only gets it after breakfast on weekends. Took some crackers in to DH so will check on him during the morning but most of the sounds seem to have subsided.

@garlictwist sounds like me, when DA2 was sick I could only focus on cleaning up which is actually the bit that doesn’t bother me. Couldn’t give him any comfort at all. It was awful.

Thinking of you. Those D&V bugs are the things I dread the most.
