Invisalign has been the biggest waste of time and money!!

I had one tooth that was slightly overlapped at the front. I went to the dentist where I was told I would wear the trays for around 10 weeks.
This cost £3,000.

After 10 weeks, my tooth was still slightly overlapped. So they said for me to have another tray for another week.

OVER ONE YEAR LATER I am still wearing Invisalign. I've had my teeth filed. More scans etc. Loads more trays.
My tooth is still not straight.

They now want me to have even more trays which is going to cost even more.
I can't believe how crap it's been.

A massive waste of money. I don't want to pay more. I've paid enough already.

Has this happened for anyone else?

@PatientlyWaiting21
I really wish I had. It didn't occur to me as my dentist said he does Invisalign so I just had it done there. He mentioned it on a general visit so I just booked it in.

I would still go for a consultation with an ortho (get a recommendation from others). You can usually pay in instalments, do not let that dentist shave your tooth any further!! I would also be looking to make a formal complaint about him, he clearly hasn’t a clue what he’s doing.

Have you got a photo of your tooth?

I only ask because I’ve seen cases where the person was so so so particular about one tooth that it had moved and was straight but they just found a flaw with the shape of the tooth and was able to use composite bonding to make it appear more uniform and thus appear straighter.

You've got a dentist problem. My invisaligns took 24 weeks (for the trays, had consultations etc on either side of that) but my teeth were just how I wanted them after that. I had to have one of my front teeth filed once and it went in to place after that

I’m sorry about your experience. How gutting.

you need an orthodontist who would have been able to recommend best course of action whether metal braces invasalign etc not a general dentist who has added Invisalign to their services.

invisalign can have great results and orthodontists can do more with it than they could a few years ago, but may not have been the best solution in your case.

That's not Invisalign that's a bad dentist! You need to complain, get your money back and go somewhere else!

This, I’m sorry for all your hassles

Looks like you need to put a complaint in.
