Help - I stink!

NC for this, please be kind. Going to be as detailed as I can.

I’ve noticed a couple times recently that I stink. In my line of work, I need to wear business dress. There are some days when I need to stay on and end up working 13, 14, 15 hour days. Myself and colleagues will be driving back to the office and after these long days I can smell myself.

It’s never my armpits, it’s always coming from my pants region and my feet. I worry that my colleagues can smell me.

I have a thorough shower every day, using bar soap, but I do notice that after about 7-8 hours said areas start to smell.

I wear cotton underwear however I then need to either wear suit trousers or a dress with tights. My preferred outfits are a dress with tights.

Getting changed throughout the day is not an option, I can only bring a small work bag (full of work documents etc) when I go out, so there isn’t lots of room for lots of panty liners, wipes etc.

I know there will be a suggestion that it could be hormonal however I smell nice and fresh for up to about 7 hours, would I not smell much quicker if it was hormonal?

I have a good diet and play football and run when I can so do some good exercise. I have done an at home test for BV and it is negative.

The smell isn’t ingrained in my clothes/underwear/tights as these are all washed at a good temperature after every use and replaced regularly. My shoes are also replaced regularly and I have lots of different pairs to choose from.

Pantyliners, I keep fresh knickers tucked away in my work bag and sometimes swap pants, leather shoes are a must.

I also keep body spray and deodorant in my work bag. Frankly, I would rather face the mild embarrassment of sorting myself out than smelling. During covid work changed our office chairs to plastic ones and I discovered what a sweaty minge smells like! Blush

Buy small packets of antibacterial wipes for pits and bits clean up. For your bits any Bo will be coming from your leg fold so don't do the tender areas. I use unsented tena panty liners and change as necessary. Could you carry a v small makeup type bag or pencil case with wipes, clean sockettes, liners, travel size deo in?

I use washable bamboo panty liners for environmental reasons and they made me less sweaty down below as normal liners are plastic backed.
Definitely switch to leather shoes as well.

Tights were sent from the devil. Awful things. What about leggings under a dress or just loose fitting trousers

I have stinky feet in the summer. I have some other shoes in the car to reduce the time I’m wearing them and try to dry them in the evening. Always wear little sock things, that makes the biggest difference.

primeoflife · 15/01/2023 07:44

I'd disagree with panty liners. I wore them all the time and it gave me BV. I'm fresher without!

DorisParchment · 15/01/2023 07:50

Wash your feet with Hibiscrub and use cotton shoe liners (but also get leather shoes). For panty liners, make sure they are unscented and also not plastic backed. Wash clothes in big box powder - it’s much better than liquids for getting the smell of sweat out of clothes.

Foreverinbluedreams · 15/01/2023 07:56

It's the tights op. I also have to wear them for 12-14 hours at work and have the same issues. When I wear trousers it isn't as bad but still happens because of the cheap uniform materials.

The ONLY thing that has worked for me is using my roll on antiperspirant on the OUTSIDE of my vulva in the morning, the same way I would for my armpits. A little bit on the bottom of the feet helps too but tights snd shoes have always caused a smell. I don't have this issue with any other shoes I wear outside of work so it's definitely the tights!

MissingMoominMamma · 15/01/2023 08:02

I use pitrock deodorant where my leg meets my chuff, and also at the top of my bum crack.

WandaWonder · 15/01/2023 08:05

I can't wear tights or even trousers without getting issues, I can't wear pads or pantyliners longer than my period it all gives me warm itchy type terrible feeling

Can you get antibacterial shoe inserts?

LolaMoon · 15/01/2023 08:09

Dont agree with pantyliners- they often make you more sweaty as they are plastic. Agree with washing feet with hibiscrub, for vaginal area-apivita personal cleansing wash will keep you fresh all day, its fantastic and everyone I know who has tried it loves it- it rebalances the bacteria. Also- agree with no tights.

GeneticallyModifiedGrump · 15/01/2023 08:21

Are you sure you 'stink'? I mean I am 100% sure you won't be shower fresh at the end of a long day but I would be surprised if you stink (excluding anything medical).
Going at your minge with every Femfresh product available in boots seems like a recipe for a sore itchy disaster to me!
I would aim to ventilate as much as possible, the mock garter tights are brilliant, especially the ones from Snag (slightly more expensive but last ages!) and wash socks, tights and knickers in an antibacterial washing powder (think dettol do one)
Other than that, try to stop worrying, I would put money on you being the only one that smells anything.

MoonlightMedicine · 15/01/2023 08:23

Snag do some wonderful mock garters so they're tights with no crotch - sound awful but they're brilliant and would still allow you to be on your hands and knees etc. I suffer from thrush so I wear them a lot.

ElizabethinherGermanGarden · 15/01/2023 11:53

If you are looking into shoes and can afford it, get two pairs of the same shoes and wear them on alternate days. This will help them dry out and not smell - you can put bicarbonate of soda in shoes to absorb odours and moisture and it's massively cheaper than products especially for feet. On the shoes' day off, put bicarb in and then throw away/dust out before wearing.

Menomidge · 05/07/2023 23:38

It will be all the synthetic materials pants , shoes etc as these are sweat monsters . Having come through a prolonged menopause where minge n feet where on fire , I can recommend plain toilet wet wipes ( try all varieties to see what suits) wipe the folds of legs / minge at each toilet break . It's cheaper than constant packets of fem fresh. You can try silk knickers very breathable but expensive . Bamboo type knicks are good too. If sweating from the folds is a problem try cutting a thin panty liner in half and putting it on the outer elastic of the knickers on each side rather than the middle of the gusset . It works plus it leaves a better air flow in the middle. Don't wear tight clothes

Feet .. regular pedis help smelly feet or dry skin issues. Fungus in toenails can really smell too so if this applies get treatment.
It's a nightmare . I feel for you.
