Call 111 for advice.

SD1978 · 14/01/2023 03:42

Do you mean your blood pressure?

SauteBaconHollow · 14/01/2023 03:52

@SD1978 no, the finger clip thing

I don't have any knowledge of the numbers and the meaning behind them, I'm sorry, but if your chest is really tight and you're asthmatic, please seek medical advice asap - 111 at the minimum. Always better safe than sorry.

Also if there's anyone else in the house with you, please wake them. You shouldn't have to deal with this alone if it can be avoided. Hope you feel better soon Flowers

MissedItByThisMuch · 14/01/2023 03:55

What do the numbers represent? I assume the 119 is pulse, what is the 192? Pulse oximeters normally measure oxygen saturation in percent, but it’s obviously not that.

HirplesWithHaggis · 14/01/2023 03:55

Assuming your top reading of 192 is actually 92, I repeat my suggestion you call 111. I have COPD and 92 is "normal" for me, but it's pretty shit for anyone else.

MissedItByThisMuch · 14/01/2023 03:58

Assuming you mean 92, not 192, if you are asthmatic with those figures you need to call an ambulance.

Feelingmehmehmeh · 14/01/2023 04:00

I’m up. Please call 111.
I know how you must feel - the night time when you are scared and poorly is a proper lonely place. Not wanting to wake anyone but also praying someone will wake up. Get medical help Op as it could take some time for someone to get to you if it gets worse x

SD1978 · 14/01/2023 09:47

Those number on a pulse ox make no sense- sorry. What does it say the pulse is and the saturation? Sp02? You've written it like it's a blood pressure.

SD1978 · 14/01/2023 09:48

And if you're asthmatic you can be tight and still having asthma issues- have you trialled your ventolin?

serenghetti2011 · 14/01/2023 09:52

Not to be unkind but if you don’t know what the numbers on the pulse ox mean and you don’t know your baseline take it off and go to hospital.

asthma should not be messed with, I am a nurse albeit paeds but I also have an asthmatic son who has exacerbations with a virus so know how to read one and also know they can be unreliable as to a persons actual condition! Go get yourself checked out immediately. Use your blue inhaler - multi dose and see if that helps until you get to hospital, which may be under your own steam given how things are so do as much as you can . Take care of yourself op

I'm on my way now, my oh is dropping me off

Just out of hospital. X ray, bloods, ecg all clear.

It's a mystery - maybe a pulled muscle?

Painkillers and see doc if no relief in a few days.

But oh the pain!

Princesspollyyy · 14/01/2023 23:29

That was quick!

octoberfarm · 15/01/2023 03:45

Glad you're home and that you got checked out. Whatever it is, hope you're feeling better really soon Flowers

SauteBaconHollow · 15/01/2023 07:51

@Princesspollyyy I know! I was prepared for a long wait but it was really quiet in there.

Thanks @octoberfarm
