5 year olds birthday party

I’m thinking of hiring our village hall for DD’s 5th birthday. Bouncy castle, music, food… that’s as far as I’ve got! Probably around 20-30 children.

what would you do for games and food? Anything else I should consider? This is the first big kids party I’ve thrown so any advice welcome.

Id opt for an easier option. Hire a soft play type place or similar.
I did one last year
Was 200 for up to 100 guests. £2.80 a head for food.

35 guests so was around £100 food. £200 hire.

Turn up. Play. They sort food, do the cake. Kids go and play while the cake was put in party bags ready.
Home

No mess no fuss.

It also has a large role play area and trampoline area.

Have a quiet table with either a craft activity or something like playdoh (can be easily made at home) for shy kids or kids who need a bit of time away from the party craziness.

I always did parties by having from free play time, then games, then food, then more free play.

For games, stick with old favourites. Musical bumps, musical statues, pass the parcel, sleeping lions.

Rope at least one more parent into helping run the games.

Find a DJ who does musical party games. The last village hall party DS went to had just that and a bouncy castle. He had a great time.

We did one when our eldest was 4 with a bouncy castle and got lots of ride on toys, a ball pit etc, had music playing and just let the children have free play. Lots of food for grown ups and children, a party for all. When she was 5 she had a disco in a hall and the Dj did the entertainment. When I've done it myself I've done sleeping lions, musical chairs, musical bumps, the game where you have to pick a corner to run to.
