I've been experiencing weird episodes that are progressively getting worse, I thought they were panic/anxiety attacks initially but the physical symptoms don't match up. I went to the GP and he doesn't think it's anxiety, wants to do some bloods to check my thyroid but I can't get an appointment till 19th to even do the blood test.

I've had sudden confusion, sudden memory loss and really bad brain fog. I have a constant pain in my head in the same place and this morning I've woken up and my whole right side of my face doesn't work.

I called 111, they sent an ambulance but because my speech wasn't slurred and my obs were ok advised me to go back to my GP.

I have a 7 month old baby and I'm terrified something will happen to me. We have no other family apart to help us - DP has her currently. I'm on my way to A&E now.

Im so scared. I'm only 30 and my baby girl is so tiny.

So sorry OP that sounds really scary. When my girls were tiny I had a funny turn where one side of my face went numb and I had head ache and pains down my arm. I was terrified I was having a heart attack or a stroke. I had tests in hospital and they said I hadn't had either. Decided I had a virus. After a couple of weeks I was fine. Try not to panic. Best wishes xxx

I had similar once a nd it turned out it was a migraine. Sorry you are in this situation, and I hope it works out well for you. I am not saying you are experiencing migraines, just that there are some relatively harmless and easily controlled possible causes, so try not to worry too much xx

Thank you for the company and the reassurance. I'm so scared.

I need an urgent MRI apparently, so I'm hopefully this happens today and I can get home to my baby. My mind is racing.

I keep thinking it could be something like Bells Palsy, but that doesn't explain the sudden memory loss/confusion. :(

DD was crawling to the ambulance men and clapping. She's so funny. I just want to be back home with her.

This sounds horrible! it might be Bell's palsy but I'd put money on it being migraine, possibly with a vestibular component. They can do some weird, weird things - I get confusion, extreme drowsiness, hideous brain fog, can't remember simple words, sometimes without the pain. I hope you get some answers soon. Push for a neuro referral.

Sounds like a hemiplegic migraine. The first time I had one I was convinced I was having a stroke, but all obs fine and felt bad about 'wasting time' in A and E, but they are so scary I have since had brain scans and obs taken multiple times especially when I was pregnant (as I also had pregnancy induced hypertension/late stage preeclampsia) and when I had high blood pressure at other points as you are still a stroke risk and it is still many of the symptoms of a stroke. Since then I've been under neurology, and started taking sumatriptan at early warning signs, and have not had a hemiplegic migraine in some time, although I still get aura migraine from time to time.

Migraines can cause facial numbness, I used to get this regularly and my migraines were all hormone related.
Could also be thyroid , under active and overactive can cause a whole range of symptoms. Ask for a copy of your blood tests so you can check them yourself and also see how much they check. UK drs don’t always check all the levels. ( ideally you need TSH, T4, T3 and reverse T3) Look at your B12 and folic acid levels too
Hope you get some answers quickly.
