What’s going on with my mouth?

My lips are in a state, cracked and sore and bleeding. Lip balm and cream has made no difference. It’s been like this for weeks now (attached photo.)

It isn’t the sign of anything underlying is it? I am drinking loads but am also pregnant (12 weeks.)

What’s going on with my mouth?

Yeah they don't tell you about this stuff in pregnancy, breathing through the mouth is more common and with central heating it can be a right pain.. I treat it the same way as I moisturise the body. Apply stuff that traps in moisture but only over moist skin. Like when you apply moisturiser straight out the bath when you're still damp.

Thanks - just relieved it’s not a sign of diabetes or anything like that! Thank you 😊

Weleda calendula ointment (not cream) is brilliant for healing (also brilliant for sore nipples if planning to breast feed)👌

I'm pregnant too, and have had a cut on my lip that won't heal since late September Shock

This sounds gross Grin but one of the best things for dry cracked lips is to use your own skin oil- so basically, run your finger in the crease of your nose (not nostrils!) and then run over your lips.

Free, non allergenic and always readily available!

Sudocrem last thing at night. Gone in 1 to 2 days.

I often have cracked lips but I find it corresponds with times when I'm not eating as much veg as I should.
