Can any coffee drinkers help me with a gift for DH 40th - shameless post for traffic

I've had the (slightly last minute!) thought to get DH some lovely mugs to drink his coffee to go with the bean to cup coffee maker I've bought him. Is there anyone really into coffee who can give me any recommendations? Big/small? Ceramic? I just drink from an IKEA mug 😂 Thanks!

Have a look in Sainsbury’s- they have some lovely Habitat mugs - lots of designs.

Absolutely random suggestion but do you know what dinner service his mum and dad had in the 80s? I have bought loads of old portmeirion and denby stoneware from charity shops on a nostalgia kick and it's lovely to drink coffee from and just feels cosy - like having a coffee with your Nan! Denby in particular just doesn't chip so the old stoneware lasts forever. DH now knows to pick up old portmeirion botanicals mugs when he spots them and save them for my b-day.

Nice glass jars and a label machine to store his beans in
I know someone who has a machine and gets lots of gifts of beans, he likes to label them so he can remember his favs

Really depends what he likes! I love my coffee but those Creuset mugs are just not my thing at all.
We had an ember mug and it didn't last long. Don't recommend.

What about Japanese Kinto mugs?

Or Japanese porcelain:

In case you aren't aware, in the serious coffee world, Japanese mugs are the cream of the crop.

I second others suggesting a coffee subscription though (look at either coffee shops I've linked above), or a coffee canister to store his beans (look at Allpress or Nude Espresso for good ones)

That's an amazing gift!
I agree mugs are quite personal, a coffee subscription is a good idea or voucher for some good beans

I also vote Le crueset

That's a nice machine! I'd definitely send him on a coffee making course with such a nice bit of kit. Learning how to get the most out of it can only be a good thing. Maybe that's a present for a later date though.

My partner got me an ember mug for Christmas. It keeps coffe warm at the temp you set. It's amazing, Iver tries the cheap ones with a warm coaster type thing and they were awful. This is one of the best gifts ever although quite expensive.

I've ordered one normal and one espresso size La Creuset mug. They look so lovely, and hopefully he'll appreciate the sentiment, but it's not cost a fortune if he prefers a different type of mug!

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone, it was really helpful and now I have some great ideas for future gifts!!
