Dentist missed a cavity

I took my dc for their check up 3 days ago and was told all was good.
I looked at their teeth yesterday and there's a brown mark on the side of a molar that looks to me like a cavity.

I'll be calling up today to tell them. Has this happened to anyone here before? Thinking I should find another dentist.

Before jumping to conclusions I’d go back and get them to recheck the bit you’re worried about.

Like PP said, call them. and explain your concern and ask if they could reassess the tooth. I wouldn't call up to tell them that they have missed a cavity, you're just likely to get everyones back's up. A brown mark on a tooth could be anything from staining to a developmental mark where the enamel wasn't laid down properly. And of couse it's happened to people before, whilst I suspect this isnt a missed cavity, your dentist is only human.

It's probably staining or came through like that. If it's soft it may well be a cavity, but if it's hard it will be a malformation. If the destiny examined it to feel whether it's hard or soft then you can be sure that it's not.

How do you know it's a cavity just by looking? Brown marks on teeth can be caused by all sorts of things.

Dentist missed a cavity in my son's mouth. He has significant SEan though, so check ups are difficult. His only became apparent when he got a huge abscess.

I'm sure it's a cavity as its left a hole. I was hoping it was just food stuck in the groove but I've brushed it and it hasn't changed. I would think it was quite obvious for a dentist to see, so concerned what else they could be missing.
