My daughter has a 5 year old with special needs. She needs a disability buggy. The issue is she ls 24 weeks pregnant. So we don't know how she's going to use a disability buggy and a buggy for a new born?
(She cant use a sling/carrier) any ideas?

Is there no chance at all elder child would fit in a normal double buggy with a newborn seat on the other side? Or put n about nipper coped with 30k of kids combined altho aware the imbalance of sides won't help.

You can also get clips that will lock two single biggies together, so might be an option but she'd prob need to take the disability buggy with her to the shop to see if it would work?

Also, do encourage her to speak to the people providing the disability buggy to their advice, in sure it won't be the first time they've had this issue

What a previous poster said, she needs to contact the company who provide/made the disability buggy. I'm sure this will have come up before.

What’s the issue with a sling, is it a physical disability? I’d recommend going to a sling meet and trying different ones to see if there’s a way round it.

There are several options available, Freedom for Kids have a few on their site, she needs to chat with her OT.

She does not have an OT. Her son does not have an official diagnosis. The waiting list is very long. But social worker had agreed he needs one. We are just thinking about the practical side of it when baby is born.

Reason for no to a sling /carrier is because it will restrict her trying to see to her 5 year old if he was to have a melt down it would not be good to have baby in a carrier whilst seeing to him as baby could get hurt... also she hates carriers

Could use a back carrier as the newborn gets older?

Ah OK so she's still waiting on the special needs buggy? Is there no way to manage with one of those clip on chair type buggy boards? We had this double but if you remove one buggy seat, you can just sit in it buggy board style

If DGS won’t fit into a standard double buggy there are several options with SN buggies.

A referral to OT and/or wheelchair services doesn’t require a diagnosis, and there are several charities that can help with funding SN buggies.
