This may have been publicised on here last year but thought I noticed it looking at something else and thought I’d add again. Government advise not to use self feed bottles

What a horrendous idea! How could anyone think that would be safe?

I've been a mum for almost 18 years and didn't even know they were a thing 😂 I can see why they are a hazard though.

I'm pretty sure it's everyone's advice in child safety circles

Firstly who is that lazy they want to prop feed a baby
Secondly even thinking about being force fed milk is mind blowing!

Whomever sells these should be stopped - they can't have a CE mark surely

Indeed! Prop feeding is something I've seen in person! It was 10 years ago but I saw a group of about 7-8 babies laying in a garden at a kids party, all with bottles propped in their mouths with various items propping them. The parents were all drinking in the sunshine,
Not even watching them - it was a group of people I didn't know and I've never seen again since thank god

5 years ago or so there was a mum who came on here with her invention she had spent her life savings on, similar to this and she got torn a new one. Her family came on to say everyone was mean. She had started out tying a bottle to her baby with a dressing gown whilst she showered. 100% unanimous that it was dangerous, but she had had them made and was looking to sell them.

I can remember propping up bottles was branded as dangerous in baby books etc when I had my first child over 30 years ago.

I was very surprised to see the warning. Most MNetters wouldn’t I’m sure but added in case. I suppose those parents wouldn’t admit it on MN.

Maybe they heard of a new company
