Best way to thank NHS doctor?

I ended up in A&E New Years Day with a severe dental abscess and facial swelling (my eye was almost fully closed on that side). I was in the worst pain I’d ever experienced and I honestly would have done pretty much anything to make it disappear at that point! I saw an emergency dentist earlier in the day who prescribed antibiotics and strong painkillers (which didn’t touch the sides) but she didn’t want to drain the abscess claiming it would cause more pain…

When the swelling reached my eye, I sort of knew I had no choice but to go to A&E plus I was rocking back and forth crying in pain despite taking all painkillers possible. I was dreading it after reading so many negative reviews about A&E departments in the news, I thought I’d be there all night. I was triaged by the nurses within 5 minutes, saw a GP within an hour and the maxfax doctor on duty came to get me around 10 mins after that. The maxfax doctor was honestly amazing, I couldn’t have asked for more. He drained the abscess which made the pain completely disappear and swelling reduce, I couldn’t have been more grateful.

I had to sit in A&E for a while after because I’d accidentally overdosed on paracetamol so had to have a drip. The maxfax doctor came back to find me after the drip had finished and he did everything possible to ensure I was discharged rapidly. I’ve had experiences before where I’ve ended up sitting around for hours after treatment has ended waiting for something like antibiotics or a cannula removed. He gave me the antibiotics himself because an A&E doctor had just handed me the prescription which wasn’t particularly helpful at midnight on NYD! He also approached a nurse and asked her to remove my cannula on the spot so I could leave straight away.

He was just amazing and I’m so grateful but don’t feel like I thanked him as much as I should have done. I filled out the friends &family test and gave a rave review but is there anything else I could/should be doing to ensure he gets some credit because it’s definitely due? After all the negative stories in the press lately I just think they all deserve some praise.
