What Christmas food have you got leftover?

We have quite a lot but not as much as usual.

1/4 homemade Christmas cake
Full tub of celebrations
1/2 tub roses (only the ones nobody likes left - all the hazel whirls and dairy milk are sadly gone)
All the chomps, fudges and curly wurlys from the selection boxes

A large slice of the Christmas cheese
Jar of paté
Box of chocolate biscuits
Most of a Christmas cake
2 bottles of cheap wine, bought for making mulled wine
A jar of mincemeat
A chocolate orange and a few chocolate coins
Some chocolate that visitors brought round
Various of the DC's Christmas sweets and chocolate

As long I make mince pies and mulled wine at some point then it will all get used up fairly easily.

Forgot about the 5 jars of onion chutney that I bought without paying close attention to the ingredients as I was just excited to see it (onion chutney is very rare in my country, Lidl used to sell it in the summer as part of their BBQ range but they didn't last year and my stock was running out) so I bought a whole load, opened a jar and tried it and it was too spicy for me. So I have to hope OH likes it or give them away as presents if the dates are long enough for next Christmas.

And the tray of nuts which are Christmas food but I only bought them yesterday, taking advantage of the shops selling off Christmas stock (far too pricy for me to buy otherwise)

Mince pies, Christmas cake, cream, scone, parsnips, crackers and cheese, orange juice. Fizzy drinks.

We didn't buy chocolates, apart from 1 box, or have mince pies. DH has consumed the Christmas cake almost entirely by himself. Almost everything has been finished.
There are two unopened packets of biscuits for cheese and two unopened cheeses.

Spanielsarepainless · 03/01/2023 13:07

Loads of chocolate.
Small Christmas cake.
Boxes of biscuits.
2 jars of pâté.
Stöllen.

But we have something sweet with a cup of tea every day so it will all be gone by the end of the month.

DeoForty · 03/01/2023 13:11

M&S had their Christmas sweets, puddings and cakes reduced right down yesterday. So I've restocked. We tend to spread it out over a good few months. Things that can be frozen are put in the freezer.

Frostine · 03/01/2023 13:17

Quite a lot as dh has been ill . Made a Christmas cake , we haven't cut into it yet . Most of the Christmas cheese & crackers . A frozen roulade , crisps , nuts , nice biscuits , chocolates , unopened Bailey's , eggnog , bottles of wine. M & S gin liqueur, a new flavour Disaranto .

Quornflakegirl · 03/01/2023 13:35

A bit of cheese
a box of mince pies
half a box of dates
half a box of crackers

Kim82 · 03/01/2023 13:40

Absolutely hoards of chocolate but it’s mainly what the kids were given.
Half a pack of sprouts which are now in the freezer
A couple of boxes of crackers
A tin of shortbread
A bottle of Prosecco
Baileys
Lots of beer and koppaberg

Mentalpiece · 03/01/2023 13:49

Two goose and two duck legs, but they're in the freezer for another day.
That's it.

fairgame84 · 03/01/2023 13:52

Cadbury chocolate house.
We were going to build it today but DH said he can't be arsed and it will end up with dog hairs on it so we're just eating the unbuilt chocolate instead.

paintitallover · 03/01/2023 14:09

Did someone else ask this yesterday?

MulberryMoon · 03/01/2023 14:11

Frozen turkey and cheese. Pack of mini Mince pies, unopened Xmas pud, chocolates

MissMarplesbag · 03/01/2023 14:16

Just a box of cheese crackers, we were all ill over the holidays so didn't get out to the shops for everything. Just as well as we were too ill to eat at the start and only just got our appetites back.

For those who have lots of food left over, why don't you write it down so you know not to buy so much next Christmas. Also, please donate to the food banks instead of binning unopened packets.

JaninaDuszejko · 03/01/2023 14:20

Loads. DD1 has been eating smoked salmon bagels every day for breakfast since Christmas to use up all the smoked salmon since I overbought so much.

Otherwise:
Christmas pudding (DH are going to have the last bit fried for dinner)
Christmas cake (I love it and deliberately make enough to eat through January)
Mince pies
Shortbread
Gingerbread
Alfajores
Chocolates
Crackers
Cheese

We're still on holiday this week so we're slowly working through it all.

OceanbreezeSun · 03/01/2023 14:25

A tin of quality streets
Wine gums
A terrys chocolate orange
Some Christmas cake
A box of crackers
unopened cheese
Chutneys

Not in a rush to eat them - gone off chocolate tbh!
We’ve already given away a couple of tins of biscuits to my mum & dad.

Fifthtimelucky · 03/01/2023 14:26

Most of a Christmas cake (we only started it yesterday)!
About 1/4 of a Christmas pudding
A couple of boxes of mince pies
Lots of brandy butter
I big stollen
2 packs of stollen bites
1 packet of Lebkuchen
1 box of shortbread biscuits
2 big boxes of chocolate biscuits
Lots of chocolates (mainly Lindor, Elizabeth Shaw mints and chocolate covered nuts)

Lots of cheese that I don't normally buy
Ham and Turkey in the freezer

Think I over-catered again. Will keep some of the biscuits and chocolates for Easter!

maddiemookins16mum · 03/01/2023 14:31

Cheeses - but they make for lunches for a while
18 mince pies (need to freeze some)
Cream 😢😢
Tub of Heroes
Box of before 9 o clocks
Christmas pudding (will keep until next year)
Shortbread
Pringles
and some Lebkutchen

WaddleAway · 03/01/2023 14:33

Nothing I don’t think! But then we don’t buy loads ‘extra’ anyway. I think the kids still have some chocolate from their stockings.

AtleastitsnotMonday · 03/01/2023 14:35

1/2 Christmas pud and full tub of brandy cream (both bought for my mum as she's the only one who really eats it, but forgot to give it to her when she left.)
Unopened box of crackers (for cheese). These will get eaten year round, mostly by non cheese eaters!
Lots of half eaten cheeses, which although won't go off, I'd quite like to use up because they are lingering. So have planned field mushrooms stuffed with leeks and Stilton for tonight and macaroni cheese for tomorrow.
An insane amount of carrots, no idea how we ended up with so many, but it's carrot sticks in lunch boxes this week!
A few share size bags of crisps, they will get opened over the coming weeks.
3 boxes of chocolates unopened.
Enough jars of pickles and chutney's to see is through until next Christmas! All sandwiches must contain a condiment for the foreseeable!

I didn't buy loads

Friendofdennis · 03/01/2023 14:40

A leg of lamb in the freezer still A Christmas pudding and half a Christmas cake. Sherry and brandy

Pushkinia · 03/01/2023 14:41

2.A quarter of a turkey crown (in freezer).
3.Half a packet of sprouts (may be in freezer until next Christmas)
4.Half a packet of mince pies.
5.A Yule log (forgot I’d bought one, so bought another).

0 - had some pate left over but finished it for lunch.

RadioSomeoneStillLovesYou · 03/01/2023 15:15

Half a mint vienetta
Few packs of frozen pigs in blankets- ds loves these all year round so stocked up
few packs of pork stuffing balls- same as above. Both items are gluten free and hard to get usually.
few packs of Tesco breaded cheese (cheddar and Red Leicester) I love those but only appear at Christmas so I stock up
tin of M&S biscuits with the light up lid- just remembered I have these.

honeycomb matchmakers
half a box of biscuits- a present but don’t like most of them
Red Leicester- will work my way through it, cheese omelettes for dinner tonight to help use it.
some cider and wkd blue
a bottle of aadvocat- bought for last year and unopened, not even sure still in date.

MulberryMoon · 03/01/2023 15:21

Also got lots of leftover veg which I'm going to make into soup
