Just that really.
will have younger siblings with us too so it’s a family day/evening fun/special things to do we are looking for that is also ok for 16 and 18 year olds.

all ideas welcome!

Are you staying over? What are your timings and travel etc

Ave Mario is a fun place to eat and it's pizza /pasta something for most - part of the big mamma group but I've not been to the other two. Definite fun wow factor and it's not to expensive.

Yes staying a couple of nights as we live up north so want the journey to be worthwhile!

We like Chinese food but would like something special iyswim.
Also quite like escape rooms (but have rather worn that specific idea out by doing too many of them!) or similar activities or something fun/unusual.

We would like an evening eaterie that has entertainment but the younger kids can’t obviously do an 18+ establishment so the cabaret type places are out.
Comedy maybe if it wasn’t too blue?!

wondered about finding somewhere for drinks with a view like sky garden?

We took dd to the Ivy Asia last year for her 21st. Great views, lovely service and food.

Harry Potter world at Watford Junction is a good day out. Not far from London.

If you haven't been before and spending two nights three days you can do lots.

It think these ideas would be good
-Walk along south bank from tower bridge to Westminster. Could include -London eye in that.
-Covent Garden area
-Chinatown /Leicester square
-walk from Westminster to Trafalgar square

  • do a museum or a gallery
  • lots of crazy golf - junkyard is an example - that sell cocktails young adult vibe
  • brick lane /Spitalfields area and Shoreditch area
  • Lego store at Leicester Square
  • we did a ghost bus tour (great fun)
-Look on rail 2 for one deals
  • tower of London
-London zoo evening safari
  • Canary Wharf and the DLR then get the cable car over the Thames to the O2
  • oh and Camden is popular too.

Battersea power station has just reopened. Lots to do there.

mincepiepie · 02/01/2023 22:57

I should add that all of these are huge tourist destinations and have lots to offer.

Westminster to trafalgar is past downing street

Brasserie Zedel gets recommended a lot too but never been
I like love flat iron steak restaurant too

Thanks all!
we have been to London a fair few times over the last few years as a family so not completely new to it.
battersea power station sounds a good call I’ll check it out. I’ll look at Ivy Asia too.
keen to hear other ideas too!

Brick lane graffiti spotting walk with Salt beef bagel - burnt sugar hot choc? Walk into the park just before the bridge over railway.
or din tai fung soup dumplings delivered by robots and seeing them made in the kitchen in Covent Garden? Under 21 go free to English national opera at coliseum.
book the chimney lift at battersea power station if going - could take the water Uber taxi boat there depending on where you are staying.

Life size monopoly!!! It’s amazing, think escape rooms meets board games.

The Shard. It's expensive but a lot of fun to go up it. If you can afford it, eat at one of the restaurants there, or go over the road to Borough Market and buy food that's still expensive but not quite so incredibly expensive!
