… what would you spend it on?

I had fine hair, and am a short pear shape. Probably about a stone overweight but I have all the tools to do something about that just need the motivation.

I do my own gel nails weekly and have highlights done but nothing else.

my wardrobe is all high street and I no longer know what suits me so I tend to pick up cheap fast fashion (even though I know I shouldn’t) and nothing ever looks like it fits right.

im nearly 40 but feel like I look much older - forehead lines and saggy eyelids already.

where would you start?

Botox.

Personal stylist appointment at John Lewis or similar!

TreadSoftlyOnMyDreams · 01/01/2023 23:59

Personal trainer and then hit the shops when I'd lost the weight.

I'd buy one decent thing, a bag or a great coat that I'd have and use for a long time

I feel the same but have almost ten years and a few stone on you!

im thinking -

weight loss / PT
sorting out my very fine hair
wearing contact lenses more
new clothes - more classic and flattering rather than cheap fashion items

good luck!

A really nice coat, but one you could use a lot.

urbanbuddha · 02/01/2023 04:36

Botox. Do your research first though.

littlelovely · 02/01/2023 05:12

Botox for me too. A nice facial. A hair cut.
PT sessions at the local fitness studio.
Probably wouldn’t be much change from that but I’d then look at building a small capsule wardrobe. High street stuff looks lovely on slim and well groomed people.
Hush, Cos, Whistles, Jigsaw etc plus I’d invest in nice jeans, a good coat and nice boots.

BenoitBlanc · 02/01/2023 05:18

I would get a great haircut, get my eyebrows done, get some nice natural looking eyelash extensions and buy some nice clothes. Oooh, what a treat!

I'd choose style changes over Botox- unless your future budget is going to cover continuing it. A one off Botox isn't going to help, except as a very short term thing. If you can continue to upkeep the Botox, I'd say go with that. Maybe a subscription box to a mela replacement service for three months to kick start weight loss if that's something you might maintain otherwise. I wouldn't 'waste' it on anything you don't think your maintain long term, hence the wardrobe to suit you now, not the things you'd temporarily change but probably not maintain

Personal trainer for me. The rest is just a distraction.

Personal stylist. Knowing what clothes look good on you will save you a fortune and increase your confidence.

250 unlimited yoga pass
250 a starter piece or two for fantastic wardrobe, a bag or a coat?
259 fabulous pair of earrings or necklace to wear everyday

Botox, do your research. I go for a fresh look and it just makes me look a well rested version of me, can't bear the frozen look.

Overhaul your health/eating habits. Then look at your clothes and hair.

Thanks, I’m looking at capsule wardrobes online but it’s a bit overwhelming! I’ve got some skincare from The Ordinary which I’ve read reviews about, and signed up to Skin and Me.

I’ve just sorted all my make up out so I know exactly what I’ve got and organised my day to day stuff where it’s easy to access so I can do a quick face even when toddler wrangling.

I’m going to sort through my footwear tomorrow and donate/get rid of anything that I don’t wear/is uncomfortable/ don’t feel good in or is very cheap and worn/tatty.

I’m thinking about a pair of decent brown lace up boots, I have some black ones and some new trainers for day to day as my Veja ones are really worn though - they’ve served me well.

I have a decent puffer coat which I feel good in and fits me well but I struggle with smarter looking coats - oversized always makes
me look massive and fitted never fits my top and hips at the same time so one section is always too big/too type.

@lobsterkiller interesting, I’ve toyed with this for ages but I’m very nervous about it going wrong. I’m also worried it will make
my baggy eyelids look worse in contrast.
