Landlord Insurance - anyone? Recommendations?

I am moving abroad for a few months ( possibly longer) and I need to explore Home Insurance - more especially Landlord Insurance.

This would aim to cover primarily if the house is unoccupied for more than a month, or, if I decide to register as an Airbnb, would cover for this ....in reality, it is more likely that I need cover for an unoccupied house with an option to 'let' it. I am already aware that standard home insurance with Buildings cover, accidental damage and Contents is only available if the building is occupied...obviously not when just away on holiday - but for longer periods of a month plus and beyond 60 days.

The property is a mid terrace cottage. No high risk factors apply specifically...not in a flood zone or high crime area. I have neighbours who would physically check the place so technically it would not be untended. I have a good insurance record and have fortunately never had to claim anything from my current insurer and no other record that would affect eligibility for cover.

I have seen only 2 offerings on all the comparison sites and both are costly although I have not read in detail at all the various cover option. I am aware though that the options are limited.

Any advice welcome from anyone who has experience of this and/or who has let there home out or had it empty for longer periods of time other than standard holidays of 2-3 weeks.

Thanks all in advance

Most home insurers will still provide cover for unoccupied houses - they’ll put an endorsement on and charge you more and you probably couldn’t let it out. If that might be a solution it would be worth calling your insurers. You would still need to be resident in the uk as well though so if you’ll be out of the uk for longer than 6 months it’s unlikely they would provide cover
