Magazine suggestions.

Does anyone still buy magazines and, and if so, what do you buy? I seem to be at a stage in life (36) where I can't seem to find a suitable magazine. I have an interest in gardening, cooking and home making. Is there a magazine that covers all? I was in Tesco today and the magazine section just seems to be getting smaller. I remember my late teens early 20s having a couple of mags I would buy religiously.

Good Housekeeping? I buy Ideal Home and 25 Beautiful Homes.

Good Housekeeping covers this. I've had a subscription for about three years and still love it.

I use Instagram instead

Thanks. I spied it a couple of times but never bought it. I'll give it a try.

I have subscriptions to Good Housekeeping, Country Living and Sainsbury's magazine. I pick up the free Waitrose monthly magazine as well. They bring such joy and they all get read by assorted others after me. NB I do wait for the cheapy offers though rather than rolling subscriptions.

I enjoy Red most months. Good mix of stuff and feels like a treat x

I haven't seen Red in the shops for a long time, I didn't know it was still around. I signed up for a country living subscription during lockdown. I received the first magazine and then they cancelled the subscription for some reason.

I'm also 36 and buy Closer every week.

I like the mix of celeb stuff, fashion, health and beauty and the TV guide. Also the puzzles. My husband likes the suduko!

I like magazines as I find them relaxing to read. Can pick up and read a page during an advert break on tv for example and then just put it down again. Not as engrossing as a book.

I use the Libby app (free for library members) and free trials of Readly to find new magazines, or just read them without buying any. Might be handy for you.

I do occasionally buy The Simple Things, or a copy of The New Scientist if it's got some interesting topics on.

I enjoy Platinum (i realise might be a bit old for you but dont worry, it isnt Peoples Friend territory😁) it has lifestyle, cooking and reasonable fashion I.e. not too out there. I like it better than Good Housekeeping . They have an offer on at the moment £3 for first three magazines

If you have a library card and an iPad/tablet, download the PressReader app and you can access many UK/world magazines and newspapers for free through your library.
