I need a new hobby for 2023 - but what?

Suggestions please?

When I say new hobby what I mean is HOBBY.

I've never really had one - used to swim a bit in my 20s but what I want to achieve in 2023 is a new skill combined with an opportunity to meet new friends.

Open to suggestions - currently my mind is blank.

Thankyou.

Bellringing?

stay with me . . .

I love hearing the church bells but I worry that it's going to disappear soon as it always seems to be older people.

I'm not interested myself as I have a dodgy shoulder but someone out there must fancy it?

Oooh! Loving this question.

i always think I am a person without hobbies. But I currently do;

-swimming with a friend twice a week
-choir every second week
-book club monthly
-a club that does 'naff things' every few months- we pick the things we don't think we will like and try them out. Most recently we did a burlesque day and a ukelele lesson. We did not like them, but it was fun!

I'm thinking of volunteering at my local NT place, didn't think of that as a hobby but I suppose it could be. I'm not sure what they're looking for but I was going to offer one Sunday month. It is so beautiful and one of my favourite places ever, I go for a walk there every other day.

@StormObelisk distance to a club is certainly an issue, but the social rowers don't have a lot of commitment at our club certainly as there is a lot of doing mixed crews or doubles where they just enjoy going out together.

I think you’re probably right @CMOTDibbler. I came at it from being a serious rower and found factoring in a two hour journey difficult/frustrating after living somewhere I could walk to the club for a very long time.
