Anyone else not get a christmas present?

Feeling sorry for myself, purchased all food all santa presents for 2 DC (8 and 4) and a present for DH. Cooked xmas dinner for everyone including DHs family, cleaned house multiple times. And nothing, not a single present. DH does not work so can't afford it. I know Xmas is for little ones and it may be self centered to feel sorry for myself, but still would have been nice to get something. Anyone else in the same boat?

Forget them and their selfishness and buy yourself something super special - then smile every time you wear or use it!

"RedPost you have a point. I would prefer if he worked but he's not... I fear he's hiding behind the dc. Probably isn't fair when one partner opts out and leaves the financial burden to one person"

Not the point of the post but a lot of SAHM do this and thinks the return of childcare and housework and life admin makes it balanced

Did you both agree that you would have a stay at home parent and that it would be DH? If so, why doesn’t he have any money as surely your income is treated as family money in this scenario? If you want DH to get a job and contribute financially, that’s a discussion you should definitely have- having a sahp can only work properly if it is what you both want.
