Mine is to finally buy our own home, after three and a half years of saving for a deposit!

Same here! Realistically I think we will need to save for another year, so I'm going to up my savings efforts and put more aside each month.
A 10 kg weight loss would be good too, so I'll be getting back into running and swimming and eating less

PurplePetalPip · 28/12/2022 12:12

I suppose to try and take back some control and 'me time'. DS is 16 months now so getting a bit more independent. I'd like to commit to running again (have done bits since he was born but nothing serious) and am setting the Great North Run in September as a goal. I've also got a cleaner starting in January so that should help me keep on top of the house a bit more which is my other goal!

Get into a regular exercise routine. Hoping this will also help slim down from a size 16 to size 12.

Talk and see friends more regularly. Did badly at this on 2022 due to studying at weekends. Now that’s over I want get back to where I was

Vanishbanish · 28/12/2022 12:33

Get my house looking like a home.

Get my teeth sorted out

And hope for a better year for my family

Itwasgoodwhileitlasted · 28/12/2022 12:39

Finish my 15000 word dissertation for masters. Gulp.

Graphista · 28/12/2022 14:19

To achieve balance in all things.

I tend to be all or nothing -

diets - eating sod all and over exercising then wondering why I'm hungry and knackered and consequently falling off wagon.

Work - I'm trying to return to work after a long career break and I get ideas and notions and run with them spending hours sitting doing one task which ultimately burns me out

Health - similar to diets I try and change everything at once then scupper myself!

So yea, everything in moderation for me this year which will HOPEFULLY lead to steady weight loss, improved health all around, a return to work in a phased, achievable and sustainable way.

Any tips from people who were like me and cracked this much appreciated!

Spend less time online and read more.
Complete dry January
Sort my finances out

Spudlet · 28/12/2022 15:18

A faster 5k with Spudpup. Not that’s he’s a pup any more. Means I need to do a lot of work on my own strength and stamina, and we need to work on his focus (although as long as he’s having fun, I don’t mind too much if we stop to smell the smells every so often). I’m definitely the weak link in the team at the moment though.

I’m not putting a time goal onto it, but our pb at the moment is about 24 minutes so faster than that would be pretty awesome!

Spudlet · 28/12/2022 15:20

And also to get my level 4 sports massage qualification. Which is also quite important 😂

MrsTopaz · 28/12/2022 15:22

I need to change quite a bit so like the idea of trying a different focus each month… so I’ll need 12 mini goals. So far I’m thinking, drinking more water, plate 1/2 full of veg in the evening. One month of learning kettlebells, one month where I try to run further than previous (did 50k last May so perhaps try to beat that). I’m a nightmare of sticking with things so this way suits me more.

Dougieowner · 28/12/2022 15:22

Not really a goal as it is happening in a few weeks.
Early retirement!😁

Sideorderofchips · 28/12/2022 16:02

To survive it mentally

thenewaveragebear1983 · 28/12/2022 16:08
  • Lose 23lbs
  • train for London marathon for April
  • get through our building/Reno project starting next week in one piece, within budget, and be happy with the results
  • continue with my plan to change career and hopefully find some fulfilment in my job, whatever it might be.

I turn 40 in 2023 and I am determined for it to be My year!
