If you work full time, how do you fit in keep-fit?

Just that! If you keep fit, how or when do you fit exercise into your working day? Especially (indeed specifically!) if you work in an office, and do not have much flexibility over timings.

Sort of allied to this, if you have any (healthy :-) lunch tips that help you feel full of energy, this would also be helpful. New year, new job, hopefully new me. Thank you!

In terms of squeezing in exercise with working full time with two young kids, we asked for Christmas money from our parents this year instead of presents and put it towards a treadmill. I don't like running on it though Blush I will get out at lunchtime on my WFH days rather than use it.
I used to buggy run when the kids were at nursery but they're a bit big now, and school is 200m from our house so not really a workout.
My 6yo and I both ride so I can combine childcare with riding unless she has pony club or she/i have a competition.
A PP is right though, you somehow make time for it if it's a priority.

I have a very short routine for getting out of bed and that helps. I also have all my workout clothes in one drawer ready to go with lots of options that I like wearing - I feel like that makes a difference.

apple+ fitness works really well for me - I like the logging of workouts, accountability, and the number of options. The workouts are v good quality too. I have used Les Mills/beach body etc in the past and prefer this set up.

I changed my habits a few years ago and find Tactic Nutrition on insta really great for advice and a source of reliable information/thinking points.

Do you have an Apple Watch? I think there is a four week suggested programme for beginners that could be a good place to start. Do you own weights? Or plan on doing HIIT? Coach to 5k is excellent if you want to start running.

I keep falling off the wagon and we have a mini home gym! I’ve consistently walked but it doesn’t do much for me. However pre Christmas I started getting back on it, especially when it was cold and icy

Ive found to try and build consistent habits that doing a 20 min peloton ride and 5-10 mins of stretching every day in the morning has been v useful just to ease back in. The days dh takes DS to school, I can do this in the morning and be ready at my desk for work (i wfh) by 8.45

Ds is a stupidly early riser so if I get up at 6 to do a workout he’s up and annoying me, which isn’t conducive to getting in the head space for it

If it’s not pissing it down on the weekend, I try and get in a 4-5km run. I’ve also just received dumbbells for cChristmas so planning to do 2 weights workouts a week at home, probably evenings as I find weights much easier to wind down from.

I work full time in a busy office Monday to Fridays in admin, sometimes working at home, what i tend to do - weather depending that is, taking my son's dog for long walks most nights even if it's just around the block. I have one of those fitbit watches so as long as i walk so many steps i will burn some calories.

Whatever you decide to do it has to fit into your life and be enjoyable and sustainable - if getting up at 5am is your idea of hell then the chances are you won’t stick at it. Find something you love doing and try a few different times during the week to see what works best for you.

Agree with enjoyable and sustainable. I happened to have a really swish gym next door and the thing I wanted to do must at lunch was go and exercise. Would feel annoyed with lunch time meetings

Same with running home. The more it’s intertwined into the normal day in a looking forward to way the better
