Inlaws have bought DC some hideous clothes

What do I do? I don't want them ever wearing them. They are so fluffy and and really impractical. They'll want a photo of them wearing them. I could possibly sell them on ebay. Can't take back to the shop as its from a little independent one.

Do your DC like the clothes?

OopsItsAPony · 27/12/2022 12:51

Put them in them just for a day and take photos? Then give them to a charity shop so someone can get use of them.

Put the clothes on the DC. Take a photo. Take clothes to charity. Job done.

I don't think so they didn't want to wear the jacket when I tried earlier

Ok good idea thanks - I'll make sure it's a charity shop no where near their town

Put them in then for a quick photo to send to grandparents then sell on vinted. Totally not speaking from experience here 🤣

Bemyclementine · 27/12/2022 12:56

Sell on vinted?

astralpiano · 27/12/2022 12:56

I'm thinking I should probably leave it a few months

Take a photo of the child wearing the clothes, then, in a couple of weeks, say the clothes got stained/torn and you've had to bin them.

In future, ask for vouchers so that the child or you can buy some clothes.

Say how lovely they are. Take pic and then put them away for a bit. You can then get rid later. It is a non issue.

I used to have unsuitable clothes brought for my dd, everything had to be fluffy, cute, difficult to wear. Made worse by the fact that my dd always had clothes sensory issues. I just started to be honest: "Please let me have a receipt so I can return, they really aren't my dd's style and I appreciate you spent a lot of money."
