unusual ideas for activity for teens in London

Looking for unusual ideas for teens in London. Done the usual tourist things such as climb over the 02. Could involve cycling or travel around with clues/trail like a real monopoly if such a thing exists but not like the live monopoly game at £60 each for an hours play.

Cycling in the Olympic velodrome in Stratford? Then the Orbital slide?

NorthFaceofthelaundrypile · 26/12/2022 14:10

Look up Treasure Trails. We’ve not done a London one, but have used them in Bath and York to explore.

SENSAS in Vauxhall - like an escape room but sensory (guess what this taste/smell is) rather than logic puzzles.

Skating at one of the historic palaces

Duck & Waffle or sushisamba for views

There are various cycling tours available

Dunno about cycle tours but the Churchill war rooms have always gone down a storm with teens I know. There’s quite a lot of it so keeps them busy for a while.

Postal museum train?

faw2009 · 26/12/2022 15:12

Go Ape?
Race up Monument?
Took my teen to the Wellcome Collection the other day and he enjoyed it, got a good expo In Plain Sight at the moment. (Plus a good gift shop and nice cafe).
Am sure there's a few things new around Kings X like curling.

Puttshack was fun though short. Would go for the extra game offer if available.

There's a ping pong bar called bounce. It's really good fun. They've got tables from the Olympics there. Kid friendly in the day, turns into a party place at night

Camden markets.
Jack The Ripper walking tour.
The Old Operating Theatre.

In decent weather go for a walk on the Finsbury Park to AllyPally Parkland Walk, and see North London from the train's viewpoint (but at your walking place).

Similarity, you can walk by the River Brent from the Welsh Harp dam pretty much as far downstream as you like. Many years since I used to walk there, but it didn't feel like we were in London at all.

One for next year: London Open House. We've been into some amazing places where the public cannot normally go, such as Crossrail construction sites and the Royal Courts of Justice.

Going to Tim Hunkin's 'Novelty Automation' maybe? Lots of wacky unique coin operated machines that are fun for all ages, my 14yo loves it

Go Ape - Battersea gives you decent views over the city.
