Tedious thread alert!

Does anyone know how to remove this kind of staining on the inside of the oven door? This is actually on the slide out glass bit - have tried all the usual things and nothing is making any difference at all! Tried scrubbing too. It's getting on my nerves now.

Obviously I expect everyone to pause their Christmas day for this important issue 😁

Moisten a dishwasher cube, move around over glass. Job done, in 2 seconds

You could try a Stanley blade on its side. On glass, it’s quite effective and have used this to get gloss paint off from glass when decorating, it’ll work where scrubbing with a scouring pad doesn’t manage. Be careful though.

Or use a tile scraper, it’s basically the same thing but the blade is in a handle for safety.

I bought one of these, which works really well. My oven door hasn't been this clean since it was new.

Wire wool, doesn’t scratch, comes straight off

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 25/12/2022 16:43

Pink stuff paste, in the pot. I get it from B&M but I think most places sell it.

CharlotteStreetW1 · 25/12/2022 16:47

Liquid soda crystals.

Or GMI (Get a Man In)

FluffyPJs · 25/12/2022 16:55

Pink stuff in the pot, with a diamond brush to get it all off. Works a treat

FluffyPJs · 25/12/2022 16:55

Diamond sponge! Not brush

PunishmentRoundupWithJoon · 25/12/2022 17:11

Thanks all! @FluffyPJs - you reminded me that I have a tub of the pink stuff, so, along with wire wool as suggested by @Workinghardeveryday , I've got most of it off. Wouldn't say it comes straight off though - have had to give my arms a rest! Will finish it off later - thanks again!

I did my oven on Friday, took two hours and my arms and back ached so much afterwards. But it looks lovely and shiny now.

TheNoodlesIncident · 25/12/2022 17:17

I used one of those scrapers and Elbow Grease cream cleaner stuff. Although I think the actual detergent doesn't matter as much as the scraper action does.

Maybe get one for next time, it's much less effort than wire wool.

PunishmentRoundupWithJoon · 25/12/2022 18:14

Will be getting a scraper for next time!

You need my dp and a Brillo pad.
He's great at cleaning these spots off the oven glass with a Brillo pad.

RampantIvy · 25/12/2022 18:37

Oven Mate works a treat, and there is no risk of scratching the glass from sharp implements.

CherryRipe1 · 25/12/2022 18:43

Make a paste of bicarbonate of soda and vinegar. It will fizz. Leave for ages and grime will lift off. Any stubborn bits, add dishwashing liquid and use one of those scraper thingies others have mentioned.
