What a sad shame. So many happy clubbing memories of Faithless back in the day.

That’s really sad news, he’s really talented.

Wheredoallthepensgo · 24/12/2022 21:44

Very sad here too. Absolute dance classics.

Gazelda · 24/12/2022 21:50

So, so sad. What a talent. Faithless made music that was pivotal to many strong, happy, evocative memories.

RIP.

Roominmyhouse · 24/12/2022 21:51

So sad. Saw faithless at Glastonbury 2002 and it was epic!

Montague22 · 24/12/2022 21:54

So sad, RIP.

Literally a lyrical genius.

The song weapons of mass destruction is even more relevant in the current world than when released.

Although my favourite lyric is "you don't need eyes to see, you need vision".

I think some times groups like Faithless are seen as just another electronic dance group but if you check out the lyrics they're amazing, almost quite profound.

TokyoSushi · 24/12/2022 22:12

Oh I loved him, I saw them in Edinburgh in 2002, they were incredible!

Time to sleep now Maxi.

Totally.

I knew there would be a third loss this week, it's always the way.

but still, I properly gasped in horror hearing this news.

thank you, Maxi, sleepy time now.

Just read this on Wiki - no idea he did this!

in 2009 he raised £1,440,000 for the UK charity Comic Relief by singing non stop for 24 hours

Sunshineandrainbow · 25/12/2022 01:53

The thought of never seeing Faithless live again literally makes my heart ache.
Absolutely the best live shows I have ever seen.
Locked myself in the bathroom to cry earlier. RIP you legend Maxi Jazz.

DoubleShotEspresso · 25/12/2022 02:02

We lived on the same street for a few years-this literally shook me when the news came.
Remember seeing Faithless at The Fridge- was mesmerising .
Awful news RIEP

TenTeo · 25/12/2022 02:30

Sunshineandrainbow · 25/12/2022 08:35

Quote from bbc website.
Jazz was a huge fan of Crystal Palace Football Club and became an associate director in 2012.

Crystal Palace's first team will walk out to Faithless as they take on Fulham at Selhurst Park in the Premier League on Boxing Day, the club's chairman wrote on Twitter.

Have woken up still thinking about this :(

So so sad such a fantastic talent. RIP Maxi, your music was amazing. Hope you will have a dance with me when they play God is a DJ at my funeral.

Lilavanblue · 25/12/2022 09:54

Really sad news. Great musician and 65 is too young… RIP

Forestfever · 25/12/2022 09:59

So sad! I was lucky enough to see Faithless three times. He was an amazing musician.

ForeverFaithless · 25/12/2022 12:30

Very sad to hear he is no longer with us, he had an amazing stage presence.
Soundtrack to my twenties, their music always lifts me up.
Rest in power Maxi Jazz

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 25/12/2022 13:14

I saw him at least once live and heard him loads as I went clubbing a lot.

Not sure I’d say he was my favourite musician ever but I have lots of good memories listening to him and Faithless.

I also live nearby Crystal Palace so it’s special that he supported them and I’m a south London girl too. If you are, you are! Wink
