Which movies have the best cast ever?

I'm watching The Godfather which has to include one of the greatest casts ever. Marlon Brando, Robert Duvall, Al Pacino, Diane Keaton, John Cazale, James Caan etc. The star power is just crazy and even the actors in the smaller roles are all so perfect for their characters. I can't think of one performance that I didn't enjoy.

The Green Mile is another for me.

Which films do you think have the best casting?

The new film by Christopher Nolan that’s coming out is Oppenheimer and I can confirm that literally EVERYBODY is in it.

Other than that, it’s The Great Escape.

Not a movie but can I add the Hannibal TV series cast. Mads Mikkelsen, Hugh Dancy, Laurence Fishburne all perfect in their roles. Mads is THE defining Hannibal imo!

Love actually divides people nowadays due to the fact that it isn’t woke but it has a fab cast.

Agreed. I remember watching the trailer for it and wondering how they had managed to get that many big names into one film. Watching it now I can see it’s issues but I still love it. I watched it while living in Australia and the end scene of people arriving at Heathrow and being met by their loved ones had me in floods of tears.

The Full Monty. Fabulous cast!

Lovetok · 23/12/2022 22:41

@Doo5 beat me to it!
I would add Djangho Unchained and Inception.
Just realised the common denominator in those… I do love Leo!

Oceans Eleven

Sense and Sensibility - great men And women

Really looking forward to Oppenheimer

Can’t imagine the cast of Shawshank getting any better. Or the first Matrix (although unfortunately I feel that the subsequent films spoiled it a bit). Laurence Fishburne was fantastic

Rush as well, Daniel Bruhl made an EXCELLENT Lauda

The Shawshank Redemption
Breakfast at Tiffany's
Casablanca
(I re-watched it yesterday on tv & enjoyed every minute!)

The Tourist. It has some brilliant stars in minor roles. It's a comedy based on a serious French film and mocks real spy style movies and when it came out lots of reviews didn't get the joke and talked about it being unlikely plot wise etc but it's very funny. Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie, Paul Bettany, (steals the show) Timothy Dalton, Steven Berkoff, Rufus Sewell, and a whole host of European stars as well. Really worth a watch as long as you appreciate satire!
