Is it me or is this year's Christmas tv offering worse than usual?

I'm looking forward to Motherland tonight and Inside No. 9 but other than that it seems a bit lacking?

It definitely is the worst this year! Where are the dramas or movie premieres. I actually watched EastEnders for the first time in 10 years as so bored! And to be honest it was like watching a repeat.

Even the few things I looked forward to being Motherland , Death in Paradise ,Two Doors Down the soaps all of them were just meh Motherland being the biggest let down with that tragic storyline , there’s not been one show I’ve came away from feeling cheered up or thinking Wow . Still to watch All Creatures so hoping that’s alright

Streaming services have absolutely killed the big Christmas Day film premieres. They are all on Netflix now - e.g. Matilda and Knives Out: Glass Onion.

Detectorists tonight was good.
ITV have No time to die coming up, if anyone hasn't seen it yet.

Meltinthemiddle · 27/12/2022 11:16

Is that a drama? I'm remember the last few years ITV invested in lots of drama's which was actually better the showing a film as at least no had seen it.

No time to die is James Bond film

Like at any other time of the year, it's a pile of pants.
At Christmas it's a pile of Christmas pants.
Thank god for internet radio.

Enjoyed Glass Onion, Top Gun: Maverick & See How They Run. Quite liked Elves.

Matilda is not on Netflix. I am quite annoyed by that!!

The Christmas specials are always shite. Same old crap with the game shows, and maudlin sentimentality with the sitcoms. Every other thing is an Ebenezer Scrooge parody.

The only good thing about Christmas telly is that there are loads of films on all day.

Really enjoyed the Battersea dogs home thingy yesterday, also good old Indiana Jones and fantastic beasts, as well as the gruffalos child. Loved it!
