Please sell me this kids’ Gap T-shirt, it’s a favourite

Hi All

My 12yo has loved this T-shirt and pretty much lives in it. It is so well-loved it’s become faded and worn. I’ve been trawling eBay but no joy.

If anyone has one in anything age 10 or bigger, please let me know! Or any tips on finding it. (I’ve already contacted The Gap.)

@PinkGapTshirt Yes I'm always searching on Vinted or Ebay. It's not as big an issue as it used to be when he was younger and only certain textures or seams or waistbands were acceptable and didn't "hurt" as he described it. Things have got easier in that respect but I totally understand the desperation!

Thank goodness for these online second-hand sites. My most amazing find of a favourite T-shirt that I really wanted to find in the next size up was one that was sold in a bundle - wasn’t even listed in the thumbnail image. It was only a cheapie from sainsburys, I really wasn’t feeling positive anyone would bother listing it for resale, but there it was in a bundle!

I've managed to do things like this for my own kids, I've found the key to searching is go vague - people don't describe things the same way I do!!

Lovely thread, OP. It seems to have taken on a life of its own! Aside from the happy ending, it's great to hear about someone loving an item so much. We keep getting told that everyone's a slave to fast fashion, throwing things away unworn, etc, but of course it's not true. Great T-shirt, by the way... quite like it myself! Your DS is going to be over the moon.

That would be very weird if you did! It's a Mantaray (Debenhams) purple hoodie circa 2010. I loved it so! Any size from 16-20 would do. I've looked and looked and never seen it, though weirdly I found an image of it online but the link didn't work.

I don’t, but I had one similar - big cowl neck I stress of a hood, and without the branding! Wore it til it had holes. Had a nice pouchy pocket at the front too. Can’t find a full length photo. I’d love a replacement too. I think it was plain Debenhams, just not Mantaray. Yours is really lovely.

It arrived today. I am thrilled, but I think I might hold off til his birthday (autumn) or even maybe Xmas, as it’s really a bit on the large size at the moment, and will swamp him.
I may yet gift it to him sooner though.

Here's a picture of the new one next to the old one. The old one is still a great fit size-wise for him, just so faded and misshapen and marked.
