I’ve looked in supermarkets and even Amazon without success.

I've never seen tinned raspberries. Why not get frozen?

BMW6 · 21/12/2022 11:37

I don't recall ever seeing tinned raspberries either. Frozen yes.

Triflenot · 21/12/2022 11:38

They are good for trifles, I do have frozen, but it’s not quite the same.

I remember tinned raspberries, my grandmother used to give them to us for breakfast. All soggy and delicious

can’t help you but nice trip down memory lane!

stormelf · 21/12/2022 11:44

Asda have them

Jinglecrunch · 21/12/2022 11:46

I found them in Asda last year. Not doing a trifle this year, so haven't looked this time round

dontgobaconmyheart · 21/12/2022 11:56

I'm certainly not old (mid thirties) and have seen tinned raspberries, supermarkets usually have them but admittedly ive not sought them out in a couple of years.

We always use them to make raspberries in jelly, they work really well and the juice adds flavour.

Triflenot · 21/12/2022 12:00

I looked in Asda morning!

Not much tinned fruit to be had at all.

DreamingOfAGreenChristmas · 21/12/2022 12:05

It’s always a challenge!

I buy them when I see them in the run up to Christmas, just in case.

They are the best for trifle.

StarboysMum · 21/12/2022 12:07

Heard someone in our Tesco last night looking for tinned raspberries with the store assistant!

PriamFarrl · 21/12/2022 12:10

Who are these people who don’t know about tinned raspberries? They always used to be Scottish raspberries.

Novemberhater · 21/12/2022 12:20

They are so delicious and a must for trifles. I want to buy some now!

Season0fTheWitch · 21/12/2022 12:28

Waitrose have strawberries but not raspberries. Could you do strawbs instead?

SoftSheen · 21/12/2022 12:32

You could buy some fresh or frozen raspberries and then lightly poach them with some sugar to get a similar result (my mum does this for trifles).

Watch them like a hawk, though. Otherwise you'll get jam.

I use tinned raspberries every year in the Christmas trifle, until recently they have been easy to find. However, this year there seem to be none anywhere so I have done as people have suggested and ordered frozen ones which also works well, I'm not sure you even need to poach them as long as you defrost them before putting into the trifle and there is plenty of sherry in there!

Perimenopausalmummy · 02/01/2023 22:44

My mum and I have been looking for tinned raspberries for weeks. Mum uses them often for her homemade cheesecake. Never had a problem getting them until recently and now nowhere has them. Very strange.

Butteredtoast55 · 02/01/2023 23:05

I noticed this when I was making a trifle for Christmas. Absolutely nowhere to be found.

Borborygmus · 02/01/2023 23:31

You mean these?

Raspberries in Light Syrup

tapdancingmum · 02/01/2023 23:43

Think they are in the same place as flan cases. Not one to be found anywhere this year!
