Who's right, me or DH?

The cleaner has broken something today. 3rd visit and this is the second breakage!

First was a large vase - cost about £40 years ago. She apologised and I said it was fine - these things happen

She's text today to say she's broken something else.

Dh has ordered a replacement for £25 and thinks we should suck up the cost

I think the cleaner should pay. Who's right??

Just noticed she's blocked me! Looks like I'll be searching for a new cleaner in the New Year!

perhaps because she's been reading about herself on MN!

Your right OP.

I’m a cleaner and I’d offer to pay/replace. I’d also be absolutely mortified to break two things in such a short space of time. Insurance excesses are high so you’d just pay up for something like this.

she was mortified (via messenger) and offered to replace it and give us a free clean.

I said we didn't need the freebie but that I would like her to pay for it - she was obviously expecting me to say it was fine

To be fair the proper replacement was £80 but we found a much cheaper version!

Not sure whether rhe ghost and block are because she's embarrassed or pissed off with me

I've just put a message out on my local social media for someone else 🙃

Very unprofessional for her to block you! Good luck finding someone more careful and trustworthy next time.
