I think redactle is broken!

I've got all three words of the title, but the article hasn't filled itself in, so it looks like I haven't solved it Confused

storminabuttercup · 30/01/2023 16:10

It's looking a tough one too

BIWI · 30/01/2023 16:16

I did it in 41, so not too bad.

It's confused by the punctuation in one of the words. My first attempt at it filled in two words but not the occurrence in the title. So I tried copy and pasting it from the wiki page itself as I was sure it was right - that filled in the title but still hasn't filled in the whole page.

ErrolTheDragon · 30/01/2023 16:20

I'd have had it in 3 if it wasn't being weird about the punctuation.

ApolloandDaphne · 30/01/2023 16:21

Mine hasn't filled in the whole page either even though I have all the words

ApolloandDaphne · 30/01/2023 16:22

I had to do the first word in two parts to complete it

ApolloandDaphne · 30/01/2023 16:23

I solved today's Redactle (#299) in 27 guesses with an accuracy of 22.22%. Played at www.redactle.com/

ErrolTheDragon · 30/01/2023 16:26

Ah... that did it. Meanwhile I buggered my stats further by trying all the variants of the wretched punctuation character on my tablet keyboard

I solved today's Redactle (#299) in 8 guesses with an accuracy of 62.50%. Played at www.redactle.com/

BIWI · 30/01/2023 16:29

I did enter the correct punctuation - should I have not done that?!

BIWI · 30/01/2023 16:31

I've tried different variations, and none of them works.

So I'm just going to leave it, but knowing that I did solve it, in 41!!!

storminabuttercup · 30/01/2023 16:35

Only took the first word when I copied it from the article but didn't fill it when I typed it in exactly the same

InMySpareTime · 30/01/2023 16:41

Sames.
Except I got bored and started filling the article in when I couldn't get it.

I solved today's Redactle (#299) in 132 guesses with an accuracy of 38.64%. Played at www.redactle.com/

Put in the word up to the punctuation mark, and then put in the bit after.

BIWI · 30/01/2023 16:47

Bloody hell, that was irritating!

I solved today's Redactle (#299) in 49 guesses with an accuracy of 44.90%. Played at www.redactle.com/

41 guesses though!. The rest were faffing around trying to get it to unlock.

GoldenCupidon · 30/01/2023 17:56

That was jolly tedious. I got the first part of the first word at guess 7 but it didn't fill it in in the title - or in any of the many many similar instances in the article! So I thought I was off on the wrong tack. Even more annoying when I then had to faff around guessing the entirety of the first word, and then input the second bit to get it to "appear" in the article and complete it.

Grrr.

I solved today's Redactle (#299) in 52 guesses with an accuracy of 30.77%. Played at www.redactle.com/

Should have been about 10!

AuntieStella · 30/01/2023 18:28

I solved today's Redactle (#299) in 462 guesses with an accuracy of 19.48%.

Yes, the idiosyncratic formatting led me very badly astray as well

WhiteArsenic · 31/01/2023 08:17

@BIWI I have the same problem, I’ve unlocked all three title words but it appears unsolved still. How did you get it to give you the completion message from there, please? I’m desperate not to lose my huge streak!

InMySpareTime · 31/01/2023 08:22

@WhiteArsenic put the last letter of the first word in as a separate guess and it should uncover the article.

OP posts:
BIWI · 31/01/2023 08:22

@WhiteArsenic enter the first word including the punctuation mark and then, separately, add the last letter

(If that is too cryptic I'll send you a PM!)

WhiteArsenic · 31/01/2023 08:24

YES!! Thank you both so much! I hadn’t done the last letter alone. Bloody hell, how annoying. Streak preserved, I’m really grateful!

I solved today's Redactle (#299) in 10 guesses with an accuracy of 60.00%. Played at www.redactle.com/

Weird formatting (thank's for the clues!) getting the article to unlock by adding the final letter which gives 0 hits was a bit strange.

Badly implemented, especially as the body of the piece behaved differently to the title.
