Wensleydale on a plane?

I’ve googled but am still not sure if Wensleydale cheese will be safe to eat after being in hold baggage and out of a fridge for 7 hours. I don’t won’t to freeze it as the texture goes weird. Im not going anywhere warm. Does anyone know if it’s ok? I don’t want to give anyone a bad stomach. TIA

@StamppotAndGravy yes, but OP is going the other way. It's well known that the UK isn't checking what comes in. Other countries may be more stringent.

The UK does not restrict bringing cheese and meat products in from the EU it is just the other way.

OP is going to Germany

Just stick it in your hold luggage, OP. I travel from the UK to Germany regularly, although the regulations say no, I’ve never been checked.

How does this work exactly?

I will be travelling from the UK back to my EU country after Christmas (first time since Brexit) and would like to bring a several pack of Wendsleydale back in my hand luggage. Surely it won't get confiscated at security in Manchester as they don't know and don't care which country I'm travelling to? Customs officers at my home airport are usually too busy smoking and/or falling asleep to notice cheese smugglers 😲🤔😅

If Barcelona Airport is anything to go by it works like it does in the US which has similar restrictions. In the baggage reclaim area there are often (but not always) sniffer dogs trained to sniff out food, drugs etc and they do random luggage searches. So it depends how risk averse you are I suppose.

People coming by car ferry into Bilbao were having their vehicles comprehensively searched earlier in the year but that seems to have become more of a random sampling recently.

From a temperature POV on a short flight with the cheese in the hold it'll be at something like a cool room temp or maybe a bit cooler, it varies.

From an EU customs POV it's as @Sandwichgirl says - there are occasional checks at many airports so it depends on how risk averse you are feeling.
