Feeling pretty fed up right now me and partner tested positive this morning after experiencing symptoms . Our children are negative despite having coughs cold symptoms
It was exactly a year ago we tested positive the 1st time round surely that's too much of a coincidence!

I've started my mother nature typically also so got that to contend with, also got a 5 month pup whos going stir crazy in the house and im annoyed with my partner who is carrying on with going to work but says we shouldn't do anything else I see his understanding but also think its incredibly hypocritical.

I feel like Christmas is going to be awful now this week we had lots of festive things planned!

What are you thinking about that covid has ruined? A lot of people aren't testing anymore and it's just out there. There are a few more serious bugs going round that leave you in a worse state than covid! I have something that makes covid look like a holiday and I'm testing negative.

Feel you though on Mother Nature. Drains the life out of you and I can never be arsed. There is still over a week to go and a lot can change between then. You and DH will be fine in time for Christmas xx

You're still meant to avoid other people when you know you have covid. I think your DH is being reckless with other people's well being - and worst case with other people's lives.

I hope you're better in time to have a good Christmas.

But I really feel for those who your DH is putting at risk, slap bang in time to wreck theirs

I wouldn't even test. I got rid of a box of 50
Just dose yourself up and enjoy your plans

I only tested for a hospital appointment i had to go for. I honesty feel awful my throat feels like its been sliced i honestly thought I just had a general cough and cold that I'd caught off the kids

Do you mean your period? I've never heard it called mother nature before.

I guess immunity lasts about a year for you. It sucks.

Hbh17 · 17/12/2022 14:16

What rubbish. Christmas is over a week away. Until then, just buy some OTC medications to ease the symptoms, toughen up and crack on. We all do stuff with coughs & colds at this time of the year. And, obviously, stop testing!

HIC2020 · 20/12/2022 19:16

I feel for you OP. I tested positive today after being asked to by work. If they hadn't of asked I wouldn't have tested, I just thought I had a rotten cold.

We have MIL and FIL coming to stay for Christmas. They are going on holiday in January and need to test negative for their destination country. They know I have COVID and have decided to come anyway, I'm camping out in our spare room until the symptoms go.

I did have a bit of a cry and a moan after the positive test. Mostly because I'm feeling poorly and sorry for myself, but I also think there is a bit of 'ffs it's the 3rd Christmas in a row COVID has impacted'.

If you are well enough you can still walk your puppy. Outside transmission is so unlikely.
Hope you feel better soon.

Just because we don't legally have to test, it doesn't mean we shouldn't.
