Cool teenage boy present ideas??!

I'm a godmother to a 15 year old boy who lives at the other end of the country so I don't know him very well. His mum has stopped giving me ideas about gifts saying she doesn't know what he's into!

I gave him a voucher for his birthday so he could buy clothes but would ideally like something a bit more original for Xmas. Does anyone have any good ideas?

I bought a teenage relative earbuds. He probably already has some, but they're the sort of thing that can get lost pretty easily!

North Face or Nike beanie
American candy/soft drinks hamper
Beer pong game
3D drawing book
Toastie maker
Simon Air game
RC colouring changing LED lights

A hoodie. They all wear hoodies. Probably the safest bet is a gift voucher or money. They aren’t interested in original presents. But if you want one i believe you can buy vouchers for Escape Rooms or there is an escape room board game.

What’s your budget?

Does he like music? A band t shirt if he does. Maybe a chilly bottle?
My teen boy would be happy with some chocolate and cash to be honest.

I have a teenage boy. A few things he has been gifted or bought recently for himself;

LED lights for his room (work through an app on his phone)
Giant mousepad for his desk, lights up and also charges his phone wirelessly
Oodie (not the branded version as they are £££)
Keyring with his favourite football team logo
American sweets
Gaming keyboard and mouse (doesn't have a PC but uses on his games console)
Hoody

chocolate or something like a voucher for pizza?
They tend to be quite food orientated.
or a voucher for an experience?

It wasnt a dig at you . I'm just saying theres lots of boys that want a certain "image" that those type of bags indicates.

I see it all the time . Wannabe hard kids

Well I've just bought it for my ds so he has somewhere to put his phone when he goes to football training....

Please be careful when it comes to stereotyping children. Plenty of teenage boys may look a certain way but you actually have no idea necessarily. My ds is a teenage boy in inner London who wears sportswear all the time. I'm sure lots of nasty, sneering adults judge him all the time. They'd probably never know he actually is a huge lover of nature, animals and history who behaves impeccably at school.

stayathomer · 17/12/2022 12:45

A funky pop, beano/ dandy annual/ Sampson’s comic book, eg Rick and morty socks, a chocolate advent calendar, a funny mug or a Percy Jackson book

That's the issue I suppose :

Not everyone who has one of those bags is into county lines/wannabe thug but...

Everyone who's does county line/wannabe thug has one of those bags

Unfortunately people associate a certain behaviour with a certain look right or wrong it just how it is

Anyway no offense was intended

To be fair - I’m struggling to give other people ideas for my nearly 13 year old - double issue as he has his birthday over the holidays too ! I’ve come up with ideas from me, his sister, my parents, DHs parents - but to wider people asking, I’m all out of ideas where I can send a link. It’s lovely that dc1 doesn’t have a long list of requests and is happy with what he’s got, but also infuriating when trying to come up with ideas. (I miss being able to take him to the Lego store in November and just sneakily make a list of all the things he declared cool to email round family!)

Comedycook · 17/12/2022 13:00

County lines... I don't know much about that beyond some things I've seen on TV but isn't that when vulnerable children who are often living in poverty are groomed and exploited by adult criminals and you come onto a thread about Christmas presents to castigate these children who are often victims in that situation and describe them as wannabe hard kids....wow.

LimeCheesecake · 17/12/2022 13:01

oh actually op - if said 15 year old had been a Lego fan when younger, perhaps some of the adult Lego ? Like a chess set or the globe or famous landmarks etc

Your never to old for lego . I'm 38 and got a lego set last year

Agree with pp, generally can’t go wrong with a grey north face hoodie! Size up.

also agree, my two have both looked like they would take the tyres off your car in their time…lovely lads who spend so much time in nature and generally thoughtful and law abiding. Please don’t judge/ stereotype without good reason.
