Two weeks off for Christmas. What to do?

I have 2 unexpected weeks off (long story) for Xmas and new year and not much planned. What can I do with 12 year old DS which doesn't involve screens and that won't give me hypothermia?
No family and all our friends are busy/working/away/with family.
Any ideas welcome! What's everyone else doing?

Museum. Swimming. Garden centre. Cinema. Library. Festive baking and card making/writing. Walks. Christmas films. Mine are a bit younger but hopefully this gives you some ideas. Breakfast/lunch/dinner at a pub would be fun too? I think most places have a nice atmosphere this time of year.

Trampoline park, ice skating, board games, bowling, swimming, eating out, theatre?

I also have two weeks off, albeit with a 9 and 6 year old, and am hoping to do at least some of the above.

Thank you. Great ideas so far. Its been so long since time off that it feels a bit overwhelming

Seriously though

Go ‘around the world’ (make or buy in a dinner from any random countries you and DS can think of)

We did that last year. We made sushi on Boxing Day, ate out at a Lebanese restaurant, then we made burritos the next day, French onion soup, pizza takeout, and so on, just had a lovely time eating with a vague theme…

Do one of the escape room games, they are fun. Games good for two - dobble, ticket to ride, scrabble, organ attack, chess, backgammon, draughts, battleships. Jigsaws, 3D jigsaws.

I know you said no screens, but nothing wrong with a mario kart tournament.

Go for a drive after dark and go stargazing. You don’t need anything fancy, binoculars if you must, but there are lots of star apps you can download on your phone to tell you what you are looking at.

We often sit and draw, we have paints and art stuff out and all sit and draw the same thing at the same time and chat, you can insert any craft you both enjoy.

Bike rides and skate parks, depending on preference.
