Shows in London

Hi all, I’m hoping for some recommendations for shows in London. I’m there around once a month for work(arriving mid afternoon for an over night stay prior to work the next day)

I’ve decided to use my time to take in some shows/gigs rather than sitting alone in hotels. Colleagues will be with me at times, and are open to making good use of our time.

Ive got some I’d like to see, as do colleagues but I’d like some recommendations too- and the best way to purchase tickets online please?

Operation Mincemeat starts at the Fortune in April - I saw it when it was at the Riverside and it's fantastic. Highly recommend it.

When do you start? Mary Poppins closes in Jan

Partey · 15/12/2022 19:42

I’m there late Jan and early Feb, then late March

&juliet is fantastic. To kill a mockingbird very different from that but also enjoyed it.

Look on the TodayTix app - you can get rush tickets in the mornings for £25. Or try booking last minute with theatre direct.

Also Lotteries for some shows.

@Whycanineverever To Kill a Mockingbird is on my list- colleagues aren’t keen so will go alone.

@Whataretheodds and @JassyRadlett both on lists of colleagues!

I saw Best of Enemies on Weds night, absolutely fantastic.

I've seen Matilda twice too (once without kids!)

If you want to see an opera the David McVicar production of Magic Flute is on at the ROH until the end of January, and the ENO is doing Rhinegold in english from Jan-March, both will be fab (and tickets start from £10!)

Selling four tickets for tonight's London performance of Heather's The Musical. Short notice due to error in dates.

If it was me I'd see Hamilton, Wicked, Frozen, Phantom of the opera, Aladdin, the Cursed Child,

Parisj · 05/02/2023 14:16

Cirque du Soleil is on at the Royal Albert Hall until March

Whataretheodds · 05/02/2023 14:20

Best of Enemies is excellent.

Also lots of concerts on midweek, eg at St Martin's in the Field

Get a stand-alone email address, and sign up to the Official London Theatre/Barbican/South Bank Centre/Old Vic/Young Vic/Bridge/Sadlers Wells/Coliseum mailing lists. Also the BBC radio audience mailing list is good for some free after work comedy.

I'm looking forward to seeing Guys and Dolls at the Bridge in March.
And if you're in a "what the hell, why not" mood, there's always The Burnt City, a wildly pretentious interactive interpretative dance performance of the Trojan Wars in a warehouse in Woolwich: shop around for discounted tickets.
