Oh also, I don’t know if this is still the case, but when I got my Lumie bodyclock it seemed like with the more expensive ones what you’re paying for is extra options, sunrise lengths and so on. If you are fine with a half hour sunrise and sunset then you can manage with a cheaper one.

I've got one and use the wake-up light for the half of the year when it's still dark when I get up - have it set to come on gradually over 45 mins. It's helpful but not miraculous. I don't find the sunset any use, and the soothing noises are too loud for me even on the quietest setting. The clock display is tiny - my eyesight's not great - so I have a second clock with a larger display.

One thing - official Lumie bulbs are super expensive but you can get equivalent non-brand ones much cheaper with the same fitting / brightness.

Which bulbs are you buying @ghjklo ? That’s what’s making me think I need to buy a new Lumie - the price of their replacement bulbs for the older models.

Sorry @Theteapotsbrokenspout i bought them so long ago i cant remember. You can google compatible lumie bulb or look for that on amazon. They were like £2 instead of £7 or 8

my lumie is about 7 plus yrs old so i would say getting a newer one is prob better i think they do led bulbs now?

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 15/12/2022 22:14

@ghjklo I think I’ve been paying about £5 plus postage from Lumie which is ridiculous .
The bulbs also don’t last as long as the original did.
The new ones are LED so next time the bulb goes I think I will invest in a new Lumie, although the LED is integrated so can’t be changed.

@Theteapotsbrokenspout LED sounds good although I dont like the thought that once it goes it goes forever. Just been looking on amazon and you can get a pack of five or 10 (various brands) for about £10. I would ensure that it's the same fitting and also that it is dimmable (necessary) to ensure it works with your lumie. these are what i found
