Is there such a thing as truly kind people, who do things for others for altruistic reasons? Or are the majority people who have issues with being people pleasers and feel an intrinsic need to have others like them?

Tjere have been studies that show being kind can be learnz very early on in childhood, from as early as 18 months. Some people are just more sensitive to others though.I believe being kind benefits the whole of society, so I hope it get taught more to children in the future.I do believe you also have to learn to stand up and say what you need as an individual as well though.

Of course such people exist. It's very sad that you are in a position to ask such a question. I hope you meet someone soon.

Definitely.

Yes.

People are multi-faceted. You can do kind things most of the time but then also have periods where you need to prioritise self-preservation for example. A person who does the things perceived as kind all the time would be more unusual.

There certainly are. I do think Mn is over-populated with the other kind, though, the craven people-pleasers who can’t say no because they’re terrified of being disliked, who are often secretly angry and resentful at what they see as others’ ‘CF’ entitlement.

I don't think anyone ever really is kind just for the sake of being kind. I think it is always about what they get from it. Either it makes them feel good about themselves or they like to be seen to be being kind.

I agree with this.

Also beware of anyone who feels the need to explicitly self-identity as kind. It's like honesty and empathy, yes there are plenty of people who genuinely have those qualities but they don't tend to be the ones who talk about it a lot.
