A thermos bowl/Tupperware type thing?

Not a tall flask for drinks but more of a bowl shape that would keep food hot. My dh is a nightshift worker and doesn't always want to eat when he wakes before work so it would be for things like cottage pie/pasta etc.

Ive looked online and Amazon and cant see much.
Thanks

Yes kind of, a food flask. So it’s still not quite bowl shaped but it’s not tall and thin like a drinks flask, it’s short and stout. Often with a fold up fork in the lid.

Some flasks have wide necks for soup, and I guess you could put pasta in sauce in there. No microwave or air fryer to heat something up?

I got one a couple of years ago from Tesco.

Sorry I don't know if they still sell it. But definitely possible. It was insulated, and bowl shaped with a spoon.
Kept stiff hot for a while- not as good as Themos.

Have also had a soup type thermos- wider and shorter than a normal flask. Not quite a bowl.

I heard a lovely story about the origins of Cornish pasties? Those patty type things? Apparently they were made by the 'wives' of the men who went down into the mines. The filling was wrapped in the pastry and the pastry was then wrapped again (I doubt tinfoil was invented at the time) and it kept the filling warm. The miners brought the down and when their break came, the filling was still warm.

Not a solution to your problem. I just thought I'd stick it out there lol.

Thanks all I'll check out these links

He's a lorry driver so no real facilities for heating up which is annoying

@Notaninterestingfact I might invent some new creations and just wrap everything in pastry for him 😆

I didn't realise it was called a food flask I guess that's why I had no luck finding anything. I'm headed to tesco tomorrow anyway so I'm going to look out for that one.
Thanks all

I used to send my son to school with a hot meal
In a food thermos. They are short and wide with the lid doubling as a dish to serve it.

The Thermos ones from newnamequickly are super. I used to put a roast dinner in them for DD - chunks of meat, cut up roast potatoes and veg with gravy. And curries with rice. On days where I was lacking leftovers she sometimes had baked beans, cheese and mashed potatoes.
Heat it up with boiling water while microwaving food and it stays really hot

JustBkind · 09/12/2022 23:16

Thermos food flask, holds a tin of soup, spaghetti, ravioli, beans etc. stays hot for hours! Wouldn’t be without ours. Just pour boiling hot water in first for five minutes to warm it through!

I have a thermos brand king food flask. They come in 470ml or 710ml size. I have the larger one and its great. Heat my food- pasta, chicken drumsticks, cottage pie etc about 7am and its still hot at 1-2pm when I eat it! Not a bowl, but certainly keeps things hot and edible.

Notaninterestingfact · 10/12/2022 10:54

TK Maxx usually has a random collection of those little soup thermos-type things. Usually a bit cheaper than the full price.

FourChimneys · 10/12/2022 11:12

Another vote for the Thermos food flask. Heat it first, fill with hot pasta or whatever and it will be good several hours later.

I have enjoyed hot pasta on a snowy mountaintop in January, can't beat it.
