I tested positive for Covid today, the first time ever!! I’m pretty gutted as we had plans for this weekend (Christmassy stuff we haven’t done for three years ☹️).
Feel not too bad, bit bunged up, bit achey but nothing horrendous. I only tested as one of my work colleagues (who I was out with last Sunday) went down with it in Wednesday and I started feeling grotty yesterday.
But DH made me poached egg on toast for tea, there’s nothing better than eggs, hot buttery toast and massive mugs of tea when you’re under the weather.

Oh @ChristmasCactus2022 I'm so sorry to hear that. My DD (16) and I are close, and I often wonder what the years ahead will bring. I can't imagine what it must be like to have her in a bad relationship and cut contact like that. Love and best wishes to you and I hope she finds her way back xxx

I'm pretty tired. Drank too much wine with DD last night chatting till late. Got rung at 7am by my ancient Dad's carer. He'd had another fall. Went there and we managed with great difficulty to hoik him up back onto his bed. Had to work there all day whilst balancing important work meetings with caring for him.

Came home and had a bath and a wee snooze and am now scoffing Chinese takeaway. I've got to be up early to do a TV news interview and then go back to see my Dad. Looks like we will have to find a care home - independence is no longer safe. It's a lot of pressure all round. Roll onChristmas. I so need a break.

About average day here thanks. I was just contemplating ... is it wrong that more or less my favourite 5 minutes of most days is getting into bed at night?

Are you me?? 😂

What a good idea for a thread, thanks for asking OP.
What a mixed bag of replies, big hugs to those who aren't doing so well. My gripes are nothing in comparison and I should be grateful for (dare I say it) finally having an uneventful few months. Currently chilling in front of the telly under a massive blanket, with my DP. A few things planned for the wkend but nothing too taxing 😊

Brilliant. My one and only is back from Uni todayHe looks well and has been looking after himself. He’s much chattier then when he left.
I’ve had a nice big glass of wine from my advent calendar, Christmas tree is up and Iooking forward to a hot bath.
What I am really grateful for is not working full time. I have a rubbish job three days a week and I am so much happier.
