Coding course getting intense day 3...

I joined with the promise that even if you haven't touched code you can learn.

By day 3, after the teacher wasn't able to complete the previous 2 lessons due to a class size of 113 people sorting out their SSH codes and tech issues, he has now gone turbo.

He will show something once and then move on and set a challenge. We will go into break out rooms and I am able to seek help but its like I need everything explained again.

A new challenge was set due for next week. To make a website more accessible, correlating the css and following the semantic layout or something. (I need to check on my laptop)

I dont even know where to start. The starter code looks fine to me. I feel really out of my depth and stupid.

Is this a coding bootcamp? They always try and fit a ridiculous amount into a small amount of time.

Break it down into small manageable chunks and Google every little thing you don't undeestand and become one with stackoverflow and mdn Web docs. You can do it!
Freecodecamp site can help you re-enforce points as revision

You're not stupid, so stop being your own worst enemy with the negativity. You can do this.

It is a Boot camp and its quick paced, which I expected but I thought things would be broken down a bit more.

I have asked is their are youtube video suggestions or print outs with basic html tags or styles. But the links they sent me were for a 30 page print out.

What made you want to study coding? It’s not for everyone

Shesasuperfreak · 09/12/2022 00:23

I wanted to do something computer based and I read about it on here and how some people fell in love with it and ended up with an amazing job.

I'm hoping it clicks.

I'm also studying front-end which is on the design side which I enjoy. I'm going to keep pushing on and see how it pans out.

Open the code in VSCode and then launch the html file with Live Server.

In Chrome, open Devtools . Look for the Lighthouse tab. Select Accessibility and run the audit.

Now read the errors and messages. Each error will have a link underneath it to Deque University. Follow the link and it will tell you how to fix the error. Make your changes carefully, and one by one, running the audit again after each change.

There are videos to talk you through this in the Devtools links above. Once you've got used to this, consolidate your understanding with the Record A Goose workshop. Good luck!
