BST Hyde Park with a child - any experiences?

Our 5 year old is a huge guns n roses fan (parenting win) and we'd like to take her to see them at Hyde Park next year. Has anyone taken a kid to one of the gigs there? Will she be able to see if we just get a normal ticket or should we be looking at taking out a mortgage and getting a VIP one?

I've been to hundreds of gigs but never at Hyde Park so have no clue what the layout is like!

Why don’t you just wait until she’s older and can really enjoy?

Check the specific rules for that concert, the age changes depending on who is playing. There were lots of kids at Taylor swift a few years ago, and you can sit on the ground where it's raised a bit and see the stage without getting squashed. (No chairs allowed, can't take food in, take a picnic blanket)

Go for it! I'd take mine if I had the money. He's 7 but would have taken as a toddler it's family friendly

She's done a few gigs and local festivals (ended up on stage at a big local festival with the gnr tribute band and then in all their advertising for next year.....huge music fan!) So we know how much she'll enjoy it and not worried about that and there are no age limits on this one. Just unsure which tickets to go for to make sure she can actually see. Slightly dubious that they'll have all fallen out again by the time she's older and she'll never get to see them 🤣

I went to Adele last year and there were a few kids, just in the normal bit. Most were on shoulders though.

Hyde park is a huge space so my advice is to find a space nearer the back of the crowd. They have screens too so she'll be able to see. I saw bon jovi there in 2013 and we had a nice space at the back of the crowd. For The Virginmarys we were right at the front as it was a smaller stage. I'd love to take my dc next year.

All great advice.....my bank balance is saved!!!!!

Agree with pp, if you stand right at the back, you'll be able to see the stage (in miniature!) and the screens.

Been to a bon Jovi concert there... few years ago. Absolutley no way a child could be taken.
Maybe it's that crowd or just the fact it's huge, un seated, (felt like a cattle pen full of absolutley slaughtered drunks),and seemingly basically a licence to be downing pints from the crack of dawn.
I was in a, wheelchair at the time and it probably made it even worse.. it was a really horrible experience. Definitely wouldn't dream if ever considering taking my children to something there again

I went last year and it was fine and would have been fine with a child. Towards the back with picnic blankets, plenty of space. Of course if you want to stand near the front that would not be fine. Assume you don’t mind your child hearing swearing as you can’t really avoid that.
If I had a child I would however be leaving before the end as they do pen you in whilst waiting for crowds to clear the roads and that might not be ok with lots of drunkards and a 5 year old.

We saw Green Day there a few years ago and there were lots of children there. Do it and well done on raising a child with such great taste in music!

My husband took our then 9 year old last year. He had a great time!
