Toddler's £2.5k Christmas

It's the woman who bought her baby a solid gold dummy - now buying him £2500 of Christmas presents including a trip to the Canaries!

I really couldn't care less what people spend their money on, but the article says she is on benefits. I'm not benefits bashing at all, just genuinely confused as to how this can be the case? It even says she is buying presents to donate to low income families... What on earth?

£1300 holiday, £475 Alton Towers trip and £350 tracksuit 🤮 is £2125. That leaves £375 for presents. 100 presents means £3.75 per present. Not something I'd be bragging about giving my child.

Very insensitive of her to brag at a time where many family’s - working and not working - can’t afford basics.
I hope UC monitor these articles and do a fraud check as surely that’s impossible if it’s a legitimate claim. Unless it’s all going on the credit card.

She’s probably not bragging. She’s probably vulnerable and exploitable and tabloidy journalists have revisited her again to whip up another story, because the last one was phenomenally successful in relation to clicks and revenue, because people just love to criticise people, especially those on benefits.

If her kids dad can drop 1.5k on Christmas then maybe he should pay more child support or look after the child so she could work and she wouldn't need to claim benefits?

Child support is not taken into account when claiming benefits. Even if he paid her 5 grand a month she'd still be entitled to benefits. If he's earning that much he probably works a lot. She can look after the toddler rather than pay a silly amount for childcare and he can afford to give a decent amount of money. Win win in my opinion.

She has been buying things since MAY, so she's not actually spending £2.5k on him at Christmas. Or even £1k. I wouldn't call a summer holiday for the family a Christmas present either tbh.

Well a holiday isnt a xmas gift.

Also people who attention seek also LIE... this can't be news to anyone, we all have met a 'Hyacinth Bucket' type trying to pass off their 50p charity shop find as a super rare expensive art piece or valuable antique worth thousands etc... doesnt mean they are actually worth fuck all though or those with 15k debt but the latest Iphone, PS5, flat screen tv, diamond jewelley and a fancy leased car both are just chest puffing to feel better about being poor.

And I say that as a self aware poor person who also loves to buy and abundance cheap nest fillings, Im just aware everyone else knows my cheap crap is cheap lol.

I GARANTEE she has either not spent
