What festive Christmassy things are you doing today?

We are finally putting the tree up (a week late for us)! I've got a bottle of mulled wine for later and DH is making a mini Christmas dinner with roast chicken, pigs in blankets, sprouts with red cabbage and bacon, roast potatoes and a lovely gravy.

What is everyone doing today?

It feels all of a sudden very crisp and wintery here, as oppose to damp and mild.

I have been cleaning like mad to get ready for the decorations next weekend. It may not sound xmassys but it feels wonderful! I've been removing usual ornament to make way for Xmas ones.
We tried our outside lights and unfortunately they don't work.
I did however make it to Aldi and bought a bag load of Xmas snacks and .....

Aldi orange and chocolate cream Baily's.

Visited a garden centre.. love them this time of year!

Last weekend we went to an outdoor light show which was a lovely festive activity if you need ideas 🥰

Had our first mince pies of the season.

Put some outside Christmas lights in our tree....I even think we got the timer to work!

I managed to stumble/fall off the ladder in a comedy slow motion Mrs Doyle style & land in a laurel bush....much to DP's amusement.

@Franticbutterfly eliminate parsnips? From a Christmas dinner?? 😱 that’s the most shocking thing I’ve heard all year.
There would be a riot in our house on Christmas Day (mainly lead by dd1 and I!) if there were no parmesan parsnips on the table.
I implore you to try again 😂

You can't eliminate the parsnips!! That's a travesty!!

Practice Christmas dinner was lovely. He's got that stuffing perfected now!

I've finished off the cards I deliver by hand. Not delivered them, mind you.

I'm going to a music festival on the weekend, so all other Christmas stuff is on hold while I plan for rather variable weather.
