Kids Parties

If you’re someone who doesn’t allow pictures of your child on social media and your child goes to a friends birthday party where you don’t know all the parents - do you just assume no one will add party pictures to social media?
Or should you say something to the host parent in advance or just after the party letting them know?
Thank you!

Meant to add - you don’t really know any of the parents well either (mostly just to say hi to) as it’s a new group!

In my experience, you'd definitely need to let people know you didn't want your child included on any pictures that go on social media.
It might vary with age, or even between girls & boys parties, but I'd assume pictures would be taken and shared as that has been the case at every party I've taken my DD to.

Is there a party WhatsApp group, I’d just drop a line in there.

I would mention it to the host, as they are potentially going to snap away, but surely other parents would blur anyone else visible out? I would also keep my dd out of any stages group shots and maybe steer them to the back of the huddle around the cake at candle time.

We don't post pictures of our children on social media, but I'm not against them being in the background of someone else's picture.
