As the title says really!

My poor DD has been ill for weeks, she had croup last month which she needed a huge dose of steroids for, a viral chesty cough two weeks ago which didn't go for a full week and caused so many high temps and just this week has been treated for a lower respiratory tract infection, her temps were reaching 41+.

My son has just started coughing and sneezing.

I had just stopped coughing after 6 weeks and now come down with a stinking cold. It's not covid, I've tested and have to test regularly working for the NHS.

DH currently avoiding it all miraculously.

When will it end?!

It's so hard juggling work and poorly children when you have people reliant on you. When I had my first I wouldn't think of being off if he was ill, but this time there is so much pressure.

We're the same DD has been ill several times and I've been off work a couple of days this week. My school almost had to close to year groups and have a Yr out on remote learning as so many staff are ill.

If you think back to this time last year we were all still wearing face masks so it's the first winter we've properly been exposed to pathogens in a while. Our immune systems need to build up again I suppose.

How old is your DD?

Teaandcrumpets95 · 02/12/2022 20:24

I feel you on this.

My LB has basically been I'll with different things for the 4 weeks.

I had a cold, then an ear infection and now I'm onto a cough- feellikedeath- viral crap thing.

She is two. She struggled with her chest this time last year with two chest infections but this year seems even worse.

My trust has re-introduced face masks, but not everyone is complying.

It's only going to get worse sadly in work.

I hope the children catch a break soon.

I hear you. DC, who despite seeming to have a permanent snotty nose has generally avoided proper illness, has been off pre school more than he has been in the last 6 or so weeks. DH and I usually avoid the stream of minor colds he gets but we’ve also been intermittently quite poorly the last few weeks too. Bad times.

First winter in nursery with our first child and it is grim! I naively thought people just meant a constant runny nose and a dose of pox when they talked about it before.

Flu, hand foot and mouth, tonsilitus, stomach bugs, random viruses, the usual colds all in the last 6 weeks. And we have reasonably flexible and understanding jobs but its still impossibly hard.
I have no idea how those of you with multiple children do it

Touch wood my DS hasn't been off school. Hopefully we can get him through to Christmas as he'd be gutted to miss his nativity.

Hope your LO is better soon.
