Fed up with the football on TV!

Just checked the TV schedule to see that Emmerdale and Corrie aren’t airing tonight because of the World Cup! I was looking forward to a nice relaxing night on the sofa watching the soaps now I can’t even do that.

Don’t ITV have a sports channel? Maybe I’m dreaming but I’m certain they do? Why can’t they just put the football on it!

Now having the darts world champs on mainstream would be brilliant!

BBC and ITV both showing matches - fair enough.

But BOTH mainstream BBC channels simultaneously for over 3 and a half hours? No, that's just taking the bloody piss. Lining the pockets of FIFA and the footballing rich and famous is not what I pay my licence fee for.

As an aside - how come it isn't referred to as the 'Men's World Cup'?

OMG!! I thought I would be able to sit down and watch Corrie tonight only for more bloody football to be on!! Sick of it!

Do something else! Its really simple. Every 4 years.

I dislike football and never watch it, but I'd never watch soaps. Sorry to say but it's mindless drivel. I think I'd watch football if forced to choose.

Watch the football instead? Soap operas are on 52 weeks a year, even including the euros, football is only on mainstream for 4 weeks every 2 years. (I know they also show FA cup matches but they are normally on at the weekend)

Occasionally I have this ridiculous idea to start watching live tv.
Then along come these threads and remind me how utterly shite the channels are.

So much more to watch than soaps.

Who would spend their spare time watching soaps?? Shouting, yelling arguing - depressing, if you ask me.
World Cup is on every 4 years , I'm sure you'll cope 😟

Maybe there should be a soap channel just showing soaps every Monday,Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Or something like a catch up service that someone could invent, call it ITV Hub or iPlayer or something like that.

I love the soaps! They can be ridiculous at times but still, I love them!

The week's episodes are already on ITV X anyway- you can watch them whenever you like.
