Is this an awful present?

I have a pet sitter occasionally and she's great. I want to get her a Christmas gift but don't know her well. I thought I'd get her a gift bag of stuff but don't know whether it's naff. I don't have tons of money. So far I've put in:
Tea bags
Nice coffee
Hot chocolate
Malteasers
A scratch card
A candle
Pet treats for her own pet

Is that ok do you think? Is there anything you'd change?

I think it’s lovely.
On a selfish level though I never buy people scratch cards because I always worry they will win and I will be left with a lot of ‘what ifs’.
I think I would want to swap the scratch card for a lottery ticket where I played the exact same numbers for myself 😂

I wouldn't want it. Teabags and Maltesers are just everyday things - does she need financial support for shopping? A Costa gift card would be better. Sorry op I think a bag of random grocery items would confuse me / make me feel poor / get chucked in case they were just lying around your kitchen and you had to create a last minute gift for me.

That's so generous of you!! And very thoughtful. I've got my cat sitter coming this weekend and I've bought her a tin of monty bojangles truffles that are in a cat tin.

I got that for my new cat sitter in September. Cute isn’t it? And Monty Bojangles are divine. I always used to bring my previous sitter a little treat from my travels. A hand made soap or some nice locally sourced hand cream. I’ve bought my new sitter an Emma Bridgewater mug for Christmas. It’s nice to show a bit of appreciation.

That's fab, I'd love it!

What a lovely intention. I always think food/drinks are better than objects as they will either get consumed or be passed on. I might have gone for just one thing worth £12-14 though, like a bottle of wine/alcohol or nicer chocolates so it looks more fancy

Cost about £14. It would seem strange to stick £10 or £15 in a card.

Nothing strange about it - would you rather get a Christmas bonus, or a hamper of the same value from your own employer? I'd rather get money.
They can buy their own gift (or use it wisely, petsitters generally need the extra money), and it'll cost you less in money and effort. Maybe a card with a nice photo of your pet?
