Disgusted by Balenciaga campaign 2022

Adding a link for context but it's already over the internet.

nypost.com/2022/11/25/balenciaga-files-25m-suit-against-bdsm-teddy-bear-ad-producers/

Hard to accept an apology when these ads and campaigns are so calculated and need to go through many people before it gets approved. It's so shocking how this was ever allowed.

Omg this is horrifying. In plain sight.

It's absolutely bizarre. Have you dug into all the hidden symbolism as well? It's so, so odd. As someone else said, controversy does get press but why would you want to be associated with THIS?

What do you mean what hidden symbolism? Would you mind explaining that part please?

KitchenFleur · 28/11/2022 18:50

Hard agree.

In the last few years there’s been a welcome mat out for exposing children to stuff they shouldn’t be around.
Pride is full of kink, MAPs, puppy play, furries, and all endorsed by most high street brands and the police being photographed getting in on the kink action.

Drag Queen story time for little children - no matter what your personal feelings on this we should all be able to agree that drag, up until very recently, was an adult only entertainment. Bly now we see little boys like Desmond is Amazing hanging around with naked blokes in a way that would normally be seen as a safeguarding issue.

The genderfication of children of all ages, the massive lack of safeguarding around these issues and the grooming involved.

Obviously Balenciaga are in the wrong here, but at the end of the day they haven’t exactly done something that’s gone against the general grain of recent years when it comes to keeping our children safe.

Hopefully this will highlight to stupid people why their wholesale acceptance of kink for children is not ok.

👏

@hoipolloih thank you

dawnfromgavinandstacey · 28/11/2022 20:29

That is disgusting I hope they are ruined as a brand. Vile. Envy

Squishedstormtrooper · 28/11/2022 20:47

I actually can’t believe this. The details in the images are actually quite disturbing (twitter threads go in detail what they mean) the positioning of the children in some of them too, the hidden meaning everywhere. WTF. I actually despair that anyone even thought about this let alone did it.

I just read that twitter thread, absolutely hiding in plain sight.

I bought myself a pair of balenciaga slides for Christmas. I won't be seen dead in them now. I hope everybody boycotts the brand and they fade into obscurity.

I'm disgusted and equally concerned that this shit is being normalised.

toffeecrisps · 30/11/2022 11:33

Teddybear00 · 28/11/2022 18:42

The only Balenciaga thing I have were those popular sock trainers and I think I wore them once. I literally have no intentions to buy or represent anything of theirs anymore.

I agree it's so pathetic of Kim K because it's obvious she wants to continue to get money from them but she's trying to look humble with that pathetic post she put up. I wouldn't be surprised it she's waiting for things to die down and then be like well they realised their mistake and done something about it. Makes me think maybe Kanye wasn't crazy after all, he has been trying to put a lot of these big brands.

Kanye is only going after big brands because they dropped him for being an anti-Semite.

LearnerCook · 30/11/2022 11:44

It's disgusting. I think its all part of an insidious movement to try and make paedophilia acceptable. As we all know, there are groups trying to break down established boundaries, norms, legal rights etc right now. If we start to accept that biological sex isn't real, then it's not much of a stretch for these sick people to declare age and ability to consent are immaterial, too.
These are very worrying times

I couldn't agree more.

I think it's time society took a stand and we start protecting our children at its very core! I genuinely feel scared when I think the kind of people that walk this earth.

Someone put a post with a link to a twitter thread, and I couldn't stop crying at the images and the disgusting nicknames that these pedos has for what kind of kids they wanted to abuse 🤮😢

Celebs need to completely cancel their contracts with them and be the first to make a stand but everyone is so money hungry.

It's disgusting! Have you seen the books with the "artwork" in them? They were deliberately placed in the photos too. They are laughing at us. Makes you wonder how much power they have when Kim K won't walk away from them.

I feel like the books were literally the cherry on top for how deliberate it was. There is not a chance in hell it was overlooked or a mistake. Every detail is very calculated. There was also some drawings by the cupboard of what appeared to be 'the devil'. The whole thing had really shocked me!

I found this video quite interesting, it's like they hide little easter eggs in their campaigns.

Childs drawing of something demonic. Deliberate misspelling of BAALENCIAGA (look up what BAAL means, awful)
the hoodie laid out and tied in a way that makes it look like some cult-like cloak

How has this gone unnoticed until now?

Honestly @Teddybear00 you are just fuelling the fire. Any publicity is good publicity

I guess they are just that good at hiding it. It's made me question a lot of other big brands also and all their hidden messages.

Oh gosh how utterly repellant this is absolutely awful. Absolutely awful.

Puddywoodycat · 30/11/2022 21:34

@KitchenFleur yes.
This isn't the first time these groups try and get in

Kanaloa · 30/11/2022 21:38

Winter2020 · 28/11/2022 15:37

@intheminds

"Maybe it was done to get everyone talking about the brand."

Hopefully it will backfire and people will boycott the shops. Perhaps even shred a few items - put them in the bin and put that on twitter #protectOurKids

Wish I could boycott them but I don’t think I could even afford to buy anything from them in the first place!

Fucked up that it’s even allowed to be honest. You have to think, it’s not like it’s just one person who took the photos. It’s literally hundreds of people from parents and agents of the models to editors to producers and photographers etc. And all those people looked and thought ‘yeah this will look ok.’

dawnfromgavinandstacey · 30/11/2022 21:43

@Kanaloa yes that's such a good point. It's on every level. Models. Photographers, publishers etc.

Why has no one said no. This is wrong on every level.

It's vile.

NewBootsAndRanty · 30/11/2022 21:46

From the curislight twitter link:

"Gucci is owned by the same group that owns Balenciaga, they launched a campaign that theme was a"Kubrick" and they used The shining, if anyone knows about the shining its witches that take the "shine" of children. Coincidence or deliberate? The shining, if anyone knows about the shining its witches that take the "shine" of children"

Was this written by someone who has never seen, read, or looked upThe Shining?

Seems they keep playing pass the parcel with the blame card

OP posts:
dawnfromgavinandstacey · 30/11/2022 22:42

I just cannot imagine anyone saying this was a good idea. Somehow, somewhere it's been signed off on multiple levels that this was ok. They are either oblivious to this or complicit.
